You may hear the words “granny chic” and think kitsch ornaments, orthotics, and handbags full of boiled sweets. But really, it’s not about emulating grannies, but more about utilising classic styles from the past.

Granny chic is a great way to make sure your wedding possesses a timeless elegance, so you won’t cringe at your photos in 20 years’ time. It also means you can incorporate family heirlooms in your wedding to connect this special day to your family’s past. Plus, with all the reusing, it’s both eco and budget friendly!

An adorable couple, the prettiest bride, and picture perfect styling touches for a castle themed wedding. Jade and Alan were married in 2019, and I’ve had the loveliest time this morning scrolling through all of their images. There is so much inspiration here, and the venue is romantic as can be. I love that these two did things their way: their readings are really personal and special, and they chose not to have a first dance – dancing in front of everyone just wasn’t their thing, so why do it?! Kent brides and grooms, I hope you’ll love seeing all the wonderful moments from this perfect February wedding. It’s an absolute beauty!

I wonder if the pandemic of 2020 will change how we all see weddings. For me, it’s certainly made me focus on what’s important – that precious human connection we’ve all missed so much. When I look at wedding photography I want to smile: to see moments which make my heart leap or bring a tear to my eye. The hugs, the love, the power of friendships and closeness of family. I blog weddings which have soul – and so today’s Best of a Decade is a real treat for me. Huge thanks to lovely London wedding photographer Kristian Leven for sharing his wedding photography journey with us. I hope you love this as much as I do! “english

A beautifully shot, romantic elopement in Lefkada – beautiful bride Shelby and new hubby Daniel headed away from it all for a dream wedding, and their images by lovely Maxeen Kim are EVERYTHING. It’s been the toughest of years for so many, but I take my hat off to this gorgeous pair for eloping – for focusing on being married, and for staying strong through all the uncertainty of 2020. Shelby is stunning in a Wed2B dress; Daniel’s summer wedding look is from Next. The florals are exquisite – and planner Claire from Lefkas Weddings gets a glowing review from our happy couple!

What’s really important is capturing moments that our couples will love forever. Awards are just a nice bonus.

With every single wedding featured, our lovely couples fill out an interview to tell us about their day, their suppliers, their wedding photographer. It struck me that I’d love to know more about the folks behind the lens!
