The loveliest meadow wedding for Chloe & Sam in Kent, with Max Milne Photography

Honestly, I can’t stop beaming when I look at Chloe and Sam’s wedding photos. This pair are just full of joy, and the candid, documentary style wedding photos by Max Milne capture the atmosphere of their laid back House Meadow wedding perfectly. With some star suppliers including The Couture Company for Chloe’s amazing dress, outstanding caterers Canababes, joyful colourful flowers by The Orchid Room and the most adorable farm wedding setting with a beautiful meadow backdrop. This is wonderful – I hope you love it too!

Wedding photographer review
Max was so great on our big day.
He was super chilled and considerate to our guests with children and went along with the Groom’s request to have only candid photos rather than staged which can’t have been easy for a wedding photographer but we knew Max had a great eye for detail and would be able to get great shots regardless.
And we were not disappointed, the photos show our colourful day and make it so easy to remember every single detail. We couldn’t be happier!

Wedding Story
Best wedding moment or memory
Our vows, both were so meaningful and such beautiful words that we will each treasure forever.

Chloe’s best woman Kat was entrusted to read our vows separately and encouraged the order of who should go first and second. Once we said the vows out loud we understood. Chloe’s vows were first and had deemed the wedding day the only day she would allow Sam to believe he was the funniest out of the couple, then when it came to Sam’s turn he admitted that Chloe had and will always be the funniest and our wedding party were here to witness this declaration. A magical moment when we realised how in sync we were to one another.

Tell us anything you did differently – any NEW traditions (or if you had none at all!)

Wedding venue name + review
Rustic Kent Barn and Meadow wedding venue: The House Meadow
Clare was amazing and became part of the wedding party. We really felt like part of the family. The venue is located in a tiny hamlet in rural Kent and it’s a stunning getaway from London. The barn is a blank canvas that you can decorate however you wish, and the meadow is the most gorgeous backdrop for a fairytale inspired wedding.

Florist name + review
Essex wedding florist Caroline Price at The Orchid Room Flowers
We had a last minute cancellation for our flowers and Caroline came to our rescue with the most stunning wild flower bouquets. The flowers were such a special element of the day, they enhanced the beauty of the meadow and they complemented the rustic barn.

My mother did my hair and I did my own makeup.
Wedding cake maker name + review
Cakes by Petula, Kent
We actually found getting a cake one of the hardest parts of wedding planning but once we found Petula all of our cake problems were solved. She was so attentive and was completely unfazed when we wanted the cake to be displayed on a barrel outside the barn doors, even going so far as turning up at 5pm rather than dropping the cake off in the morning of the day which is usually customary.
Wedding Stationery
We were very fortunate to have many talented friends and one in particular did all of our stationery, our invites, save the dates, signage and our personalised wedding newspapers that were given to each guest upon arrival.
Wedding caterers
We would like to give a special shout out to our ethical caterers Canababes Food Co. The food was absolutely sublime and our evening toasties were perfectly timed for our guests who were still hitting the dance floor into the evening of our big day. They also got on board with our plan of having multiple coloured linens for our tables and napkins to go with our colourful theme.
Wedding wear
Tell us a little about your outfits – both of you!
My wedding dress was made by Birmingham-based bespoke wedding dress designer The Couture Company. They make custom gowns for women of any size. I knew I wanted lilac as my colour and to somehow incorporate the meadow into my dress- which Jo at The Couture Company did so expertly by adding embroidered flowers all along my dress and veil as if they were growing from the dress itself.
Sam wore a custom blend suit from Suit Supply in forest green. We didn’t want to be traditional as that would go against our aesthetics and we wanted to appear as if we belonged in the meadow itself.

Chloe’s shoes were from Irregular Choice and Sam’s were from Italian bespoke shoe specialists Girotti
Styling and personal touches
Wedding ceremony and readings
We had wedding newspapers for our guests to enjoy upon arrival. Our godson was our newspaper boy. Included in the wedding newspaper were some games for guests to play whilst they waited for the groom and brides arrival.
We did a ring warming and hand fasting in our ceremony. We had crochet bookmarks as our wedding gifts and an audio guest book which was in the shape of a vintage rotary phone where our guest left long lasting voice notes for us to always listen back to.
One of our closest family friends was our celebrant. We wanted to ensure our ceremony was as personal as possible. Dee with her gorgeous Irish lilt led our ceremony beautifully including our hand fasting which she had hand made for us. We also had two good friends perform readings: The wedding poem by Whitney Hanson and She had a library by Rachel H.
