8 Gorgeous Groom and Groomsmen Ideas for 2025

Would it surprise you to know I often choose the weddings I feature based on a groom’s outfit? Of course I look for styling details and amazing flowers and dresses and decor – but if I see a groom wearing a fabulously fitting, bespoke tailored or really individual suit then I just know the entire wedding will be a beauty.

I do think grooms are overlooked by the wedding media. That’s unfair: not all weddings have a bride. And when they do, why is it the norm for brides to spend thousands on their outfits, and grooms only a fraction of that?!* Happily I’ve seen lots of weddings this last year with amazingly dressed grooms who’ve been equally as committed to planning their weddings as brides!

So when these groomswear ideas from Cavani landed in my inbox, I was excited to share them with you! (Along with some photos of the gorgeous grooms we’ve featured on English Wedding recently, and sneak peeks at Mark and Dan’s wedding which we’re excited to be sharing soon!)

Here are Cavani’s top picks for groom and groomsmen in 2025.

1. Understated Elegance

Understated elegance complements a no-fuss approach to wedding styling. Tailored cuts and slimmer fits come to the fore with close attention paid to modern materials and construction. Expect to see a resurgence in classic suits with their streamlined designs, sharp lines, and timeless appeal.

2.Glorious Individuality

We’d love to see customised outfits that ooze personality take centre stage for 2025 weddings. Grooms and groomsmen wearing unique creations that reflect their individuality in colour, design, and the fabrics they choose. Not only that, but a rise in personalised embroidery, bespoke tailoring, and even monograms of the happy couple imprinted on the lining will add a distinctive edge to the occasion.

3. Courageous Colours

The traditional black or navy suit option will always have a place in any wedding. But 2025 will see a shift towards modern colour palettes and bold, vivid designs influenced by the seasons. Soft, gentle pastels with pops of bright colours synonymous with warmer months will give way to deep, earthy tones by the time autumn sets in. Similarly, strong, jewel colours like emerald and ruby combined with enticing patterns will be popular with grooms and groomsmen.

4.Alluring Accessories

2025 is the year to ramp up the styling and embrace those all-important finishing touches with statement accessories for grooms and groomsmen. Again, personalisation will be key in the form of initials, messages, motifs, and family crests that will evoke strong memories of the special day for years to come. Wedding suits will be accompanied by pocket squares, bow ties, vibrant socks, and cufflinks that bear the name of the happy couple. Similarly, eye-catching pieces like tie clips, lapel pins, and watch chains will jazz up any wedding suit!

5. Fancy Footwear

The black oxford was once the go-to wedding shoe for grooms and groomsmen. In 2025, wedding footwear will take a new direction as diverse choices take over. Think brightly coloured brogues, velvet loafers, two-tone leathers, or even a pair of smart trainers in complementary designs. Grooms and groomsmen will also start pairing the colour and pattern of their socks with the wedding theme, providing another opportunity to add a dash of personality.

6. Punchy Patterns

Patterned suits and funky lines are making a comeback in 2025 as couples opt for bolder designs as their wedding-day theme. Suits featuring pinstripes, houndstooth, windowpane, and check patterns will be en vogue, as will traditional tweed outfits in timeless shades of green, brown, and blue for some extra layers of sophistication.

7. Black Tie Bounce back

Everyone loves a tuxedo; they never go out of fashion. So, it’s no surprise they will remain a go-to choice for grooms and groomsmen in 2025. There’s been a surge in popularity in black tie weddings, and there’s no escaping the timeless appeal of a monochrome wedding party, perhaps switched up with pops of vivid colours and accessories. But this year expect a modern twist to the classic tux as cuts become sleeker, silhouettes sharper, and lapels and colours are tailored to your personal taste or to match the overall wedding theme.

8. Eco-Friendly Fabrics

Sustainability and ethically sourced materials will be a strong focus of 2025 wedding wear for grooms and groomsmen. Eco-friendly fabrics like wool, linen and hemp will become increasingly common in men’s wedding attire. Many manufacturers are using recycled polyester or organic materials in the design of their suits, shirts, and other accessories. For those looking to upcycle, reusing vintage suits switched up with new accessories adds a modern twist and helps reduce waste and minimise the impact on the environment.

Cavani say fashion for grooms and groomsmen is entering an exciting new era and breaking the traditional norms of men’s wedding attire. *I don’t know the solution to the imbalance between prices for wedding outfits for brides, and grooms’ suit pricing. I do believe that bridal boutiques’ prices are absolutely fair for the amount of love that goes into designing and making wedding dresses. Perhaps it’s just that we should value tailoring more, and stop seeing ‘suit hire factories’ as the norm, or the only choice for grooms!
