Coming soon: my guide to wedding blogging (for your business)

Published by Claire Gould on

A big hello to all the wedding suppliers out there! What’s the current state of your blog? I’m guessing…

  • a little bit behind?
  • I’m scared of it
  • tumbleweedy
  • just about keeping on top of things but it’s doing my head in
  • doing ok, I think!
  • I’ve got loads I need to blog!
  • last of my priorities! I’ll do it later
  • I’m blogging, but not sure I’m doing it right?
  • what blog – I haven’t looked since February (2022)
  • Oh, I don’t blog any more. Should I?

It’s not an official scale, but from chats I’ve had and my personal experience, these are how wedding business blogs look – especially in summer!

Tips on blogging your wedding business

So, starting on the 21st of August, I’ll be sharing my personal advice and experience on blogging a wedding business.

I want to keep this short and simple, god knows there’s enough advice on the internet and trying to absorb it all is mind-numbing. So I’ll be sharing:

  1. Why blogging for a wedding business still works
  2. How to get started and make a plan for your blog
  3. SEO tips (that won’t break your brain)
  4. What to blog and where to share it

I’ve been blogging for my own wedding calligraphy business since 2005. I’ve been writing content almost daily for English Wedding since 2009. I’ve learned what works, and what doesn’t.

Does blogging still work for wedding businesses?

Between you and me, I also had a break from blogging my calligraphy business – which taught me a lot – last year. Restarting my other blog in 2024 was the best thing I did! Regularly updating your website and links through new content is really important. It works! I’ll be sharing my own personal story as well as advice on blogging in a few weeks.
