Daniel & Steven’s epically romantic Whitley Bay wedding, with Erika Tanith Photography

Published by Claire Gould on

It’s all about the smooches – we LOVE a wedding full of cosy moments and these two do NOT disappoint! The romance sizzles in Daniel & Steven’s big day and leaves us feeling super warm and happy inside. Images are by north east wedding photographer Erika Tanith, who gets a brilliant review from our happy couple!

We didn’t do a top table we had a sweetheart table instead and no one gave anyone away

How did you choose your photographer?

We chose our photographer by looking at a quite a few different websites and as soon as I (Daniel) saw Erika’s photos I was instantly drawn to them as was Steven when he saw them too.

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

Erika was the best photographer we could have ever asked for she was so kind and lovely and just made me and Steven feel at ease all the while taking absolutely amazing photos and capturing all the perfect moments of our wedding.

What’s your fondest memory of your wedding?

For me it was just after our first dance and we invited everyone up on to the dance floor and there was just this big group hug of pure happiness.

For Steven his was when we went to do photos on the beach in the evening and had some lovely romantic pictures taken of us to capture that moment.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

For both of us it was the iconic Spanish City dome both the outside and the amazingly beautiful renovated inside with the white and gold.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was your shopping experience, was it fun to find your wedding gear?

For Daniel he is never comfortable in a suit so he was always kinda dreading it but when he got to “most suitable” all that changed and they helped him find his perfect suit and fitted it perfectly. For Steven he loves suits so he was in his element looking at all the different suits he thoroughly enjoyed his hunt for the perfect suit.

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

We hired a florist called “Charisma Florist” and she was amazing we had a meeting with her to discuss what we wanted and she went above and beyond to help us pick out our perfect flowers and even added things that we wouldn’t have thought of.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

We hired a baker called “A Truly Scrumptious Cake” and the cake she made was a 3 tiered sponge cake all with different flavours in ascending order it was Bounty flavour then Salted caramel and toffee and then Vanilla on top and all three tiers were just perfection, Daniel lived off the wedding cake for a week after.

Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves

We made our wedding favours so they were Hessian bags filled with retro sweets and then a label with a wax seal and a thank you message. We also used some of the labels to put quotes about love on and used them to decorate the tables as well as small keys and wooden love hearts to add little finishing touches to the decorations.

Did you have any wedding readings? What were they?

The only reading that we did was “the one” which was provided as we felt that it just summed up what wanted for each other in marriage.

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

God bless the broken road but it was a cover done by a husband and wife called Caleb and Kelsie and we chose it because we have been through a lot in our lives but finding each other made it all worthwhile.
