As today is my #lockdownbirthday I wanted to share something REALLY special – this stunning editorial by my lovely friend Jo Bradbury. Jo’s a super talented wedding photographer whose romantic editorial style I am head over heels in love with. And as I can’t escape to a French chateau for an idyllic birthday treat in real life, I’m loving that these images take me there virtually!

This dreamy shoot transports us to a beautiful French chateau, to idyllic dining ‘en plein air‘ via eucalyptus and olive foliage and soft summer sunshine. The styling is both wonderfully simple and natural, and exquisitely crafted – with breathtaking gowns by Joanne Fleming taking centre stage.

Joanne’s enchanting dresses are made for the setting, with the gentle light playing through sheer fabrics creating a stop-in-your-tracks kind of magic. The detailing on Joanne’s ‘Hanami’ blush tulle gown is breathtaking, fit for a modern princess and entirely handcrafted by Joanne in her bijou atelier in Brighton. The more I gaze at the embroidery, the more I fall in love with cherry blossom and springtime and all of nature’s gifts in this season of new life and joyful beginnings.

Chateau De Roussan is exactly how a French chateau should be: with idyllic terraces and gardens, old world glamour and endless avenues of timeless trees with twinkling sunlight and dancing leaves. Chateau De Roussan is a timeless and enchanting eighteenth century chateau in the charming Provençal village of St Remy De Provence.

The details are romantic, stylish and elegant, taking the olive leaf as a theme around which the stationery suite and colour palette came to life. Invitations and paper details are beautifully designed by Emma Jo Stationery. The incredible bouquet by French florist Les Fleurs De Ninon (based in Provence) captures the eloquence and natural beauty of the chateau surroundings perfectly.
