Breakfast at Tiffany’s and a wedding at Eshott Hall
Elegance and glamour with a retro twist never looked so good… today I’m sharing Becky and Ben’s gorgeous wedding day from Eshott Hall in Northumberland. Ben is a very cool and dashing groom; I adore Becky’s glamorous style, her hair and make up and the charm and class of the entire wedding day.
The setting is captured just as beautifully by wedding photographer Alison Groves (who I was lucky enough to meet just a few weeks ago: she’s a lovely lady as you’ll see from Becky and Ben’s own testimonial at the end of this wedding blog).
Emma and Will’s beautiful marquee wedding reception
Yesterday I think English Springer Spaniel Tess — Emma’s ‘chief bridesmaid’ — stole the show. Today I’ll bring you back down to earth with a wedding blog about Emma and Will’s exquisite marquee reception… I say down to earth, but shall we start with the helicopter?
Or… where yesterday’s wedding blog post ‘left off’?… as Emma and Will walked away from the church, happily married and smiling — to a nearby field where their helicopter was waiting.
Emma and Will: part two — the wedding reception
Will and I walked down the country lane and opposite was the fabulous navy blue helicopter, complete with champagne on ice.
Picture perfect — Liza & Jean-Luc’s Cambridge wedding
Everyone wants to know who will photograph a wedding photographer’s wedding. I featured Alice and Jamie’s wedding on the blog yesterday, with pictures by lovely Jean-Luc Benazet.
I can’t quite remember how I found out about Jean-Luc’s own wedding to the beautiful Liza, but I was delighted to see they’d chosen Geoff Reardon to be their wedding photographer.
Jean-Luc and Liza have written their wedding report to share with you, and the images of their wedding day are breathtaking — so I’ll leave you in their capable hands to enjoy today’s wedding blog.
Beauty and class: Dartmouth House wedding
Anthea and Nimish had a perfectly elegant, wonderfully stylish wedding at Dartmouth House in London. An exclusive wedding venue for a couple whose calm, sophisticated personalities fit beautifully with the luxurious surroundings.
I will always believe that weddings should be ‘you’ in that they are a celebration of your own style and personality — and whether your wedding’s held in a tipi or a mansion, you should feel at home. Anthea and Nimish fit this venue like a glove. The wedding photographs by Brett Symes Photography exude the same elegance and style.
This might make you cry a little!
Morning everyone. Pens down for a sec please: I’m very happy to say it’s movie time!… and I’m going to make you cry. There’s a split second glance in this little wedding film that tells me Jane and Steve both knew they’d be in tears — and they are. It’s beautiful to watch though, and I love seeing a groom covered in happy tears! The film is by the ever-so-lovely Marry Me Films
The Wedding Film of Jane & Steve at Iscoyd Park from Marry Me Films on Vimeo.
Wedding highlights to watch out for:
- Jane looks gorgeous in a beautiful, figure-hugging strapless dress.
Something blue… at Duke’s 92

My heart skipped a little when wedding photographer Scott Foley got in touch with this one: bride Pamela is a fan of English Wedding Blog so I’m really proud to post a story and a few pictures of their lovely wedding at Dukes 92. I love a wedding which is all about friends and family, and while Pamela and Andy’s wedding is beautiful for its elegance and simplicity as far as the decor goes, the love and fun shared with everyone on the day is what shines through.
Emma and Hieu’s English Country Garden Wedding

Emma and Hieu were married in the “Palladian Mansion House” of Combe Bank School in Kent. How exciting does that sound, for starters? Emma chose a purple theme for the wedding day, and her attention to detail with all the decor on the day is so impressive I’m calling this wedding feature ‘Perfect in Purples’!
With lovely images from Eliza Claire Photography, and Emma’s own report of the wedding day, I’ll leave this feature to Emma and Eliza to share with you. You’ll love it!

Katie and Steve’s Isle of Wight wedding

I’ve never been to the Isle of Wight, but Gareth and I recently discovered we have relatives there (long story!) so this wedding day piqued my interest! Katie and Steve were married on the island, at Appuldurcombe House — a partly restored 18th century wedding venue and one of the grandest buildings on the Isle of Wight.
Katie and Steve’s wedding was lovely: a traditional wedding with a pretty white theme, beautiful flowers, a tiered white wedding cake, and lots of fun with children always looking as though they’re just about to jump into the fountain! I didn’t spot my long lost relatives in here, but it’s a gorgeous wedding with lots of ideas to inspire, I hope, brides and grooms who are looking to have an elegant, understated but beautiful wedding day.
Anya and Mikey’s real wedding (Showcase)
Please forgive me for a little lapse in brand new blog posts this week — if you saw yesterday’s post you’ll know why. In the meantime — brainwave — I am sharing real weddings via my friends and sponsors from the English Wedding Showcase. You’ll love this one from documentary wedding photographer Martin Beddall — enjoy!
Last Sunday’s wedding at Nutfield Priory hotel near Redhill, Surrey for Anya and Mikey …and their son, Leo, not to be left out of the action, he crashed the vows! A great, fun, laidback couple ( they met at Glastonbury ), I posted their engagement shoot — in the Dragon’s lair, a few weeks back — and the wedding was a fun, happy day, with Leo grabbing as much attention as the bride and groom!
