I hope you’re having the loveliest week! I’d like to introduce you to someone who is a definite favourite amongst wedding bloggers – and who has joined English Wedding this month as one of our handpicked and wholeheartedly recommended wedding photographers! Richard Skins is a Dorset wedding photographer whose recent weddings have taken him to some enchanting and exciting destination weddings in Europe, as well as around the UK! Just stepping across to Richard’s website is like being in France in the summer – it’s a magical and romantic world of beautiful in his little corner of the internet!

Good morning lovely, and welcome to today’s pretty, sunlit, beautifully-dressed summer wedding! Gorgeous couple Carly and Steve tied the knot in August, choosing our fabulous friend and Thornbury Castle wedding photographer Martin Dabek to capture their day. Carly is breathtaking in a stunning embroidered gown from The Dressing Rooms in Halesowen – if anyone knows the designer of this dress, do give us a shout because we LOVE it! The florals are divine, and Claire from The Wilde Bunch (who Martin recommended to Carly and Steve) gets the loveliest review from our happy couple.

Sometimes I see a wedding and it looks the most fun a couple has ever had in their lives. Sometimes the joy and excitement spills through in every beautiful detail, and I spend ages just gazing at all the gorgeous photos to see little details and love and laughter and grinning back at my screen. Mike and Kelly are one of those amazing couples you can just see loved every moment of their best day ever, and I’m so happy they chose our fabulous friend and exceptional documentary wedding photographer Linus Moran to capture their wedding.

A black tie wedding… the most amazing boho dress covered in delicate sparkles… and more fun and laughter and PARTYING than you’d think you could fit into one day. This wedding – as they always are when our friends and sponsors at York Place Studios are involved – is an absolute blast of beautiful and playful, and I LOVE it.

The Normans venue is a charming, rustic space on a working farm just outside York. Covered in twinkling fairy lights, it’s welcoming and picture perfect inside and out. The courtyard is wonderful on a sunny day, and as evening sets guests can relax in the cow shed (snug) or grain shed (ultimate party space!) – take a look at http://thenormansweddings.co.uk

I’m half hoping you’re reading this blog post because you think I’m a little insane… who on earth is actually out there looking for wedding photos that aren’t perfect?! Surely we should all be carrying out a careful search for the very best wedding photographer our budgets will allow? And with all the time and effort we’re putting into planning our weddings, we want the day not only to be perfect, but to look perfect in our pictures?

What even is perfect, though?
