If you’re planning on popping the question this Christmas and are looking for the perfect way to make it a magical day to remember, let Emmeline Smith inspire you with a few of her favourite festive proposals.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love Christmas. And I mean, I really love Christmas! It’s a wonderful time of year – a much needed break from the drudgery of a cold and rainy winter – evoking happy memories of Christmases past. A time to fill our lives with all things glittery, warm and cosy – and mince pies! And if you are as fond of the season of goodwill as I am, it might just be the perfect time to get engaged.

If you’re planning to make your wedding celebrations stand out from the rest, the time of year you decide to have a wedding could actually make the event much more significant. In fact, only 3% of weddings are held in December, and only 1% in January, according to the Knot.

Here, we will explore some things you might want to consider when hosting a New Year’s wedding.

Hello you lovely people!

Have you had a wonderful weekend? I do hope so. I’ve been teaching calligraphy so I’m having a slow Monday, picking out the things I love most from the top of my to do list, and saving the rest for tomorrow! And very happily for a Monday morning, I have some cakes to share with you… on our screens if not in person! (I wish I had cake!) This month we’ve had some brilliant wedding businesses join us, and today I’m thrilled to be welcoming Amber’s Bakes and Cakes to English Wedding.

Happy Friday everyone! Today’s wedding is pure celebration, with music at its heart. Gorgeous couple Joanna & Jack are both musicians, and played with their band at different points during their wedding day. We’ve LOVED reading their reviews for some of their favourite Hampshire wedding suppliers, especially for our friend and English Wedding member Nathan at Libra Photographic. This is an EPIC wedding we’ll be sharing all weekend on our instagram, so do pop over there and give us a follow! Grab a cuppa for this beauty of a wedding, and enjoy the images and our couple’s lovely words.

A big hello to all the lovely wedding suppliers and creatives out there! This month we’re giving our wedding supplier directory a revamp, and welcoming some amazing new folks to our pages!

This morning I wanted to say a warm welcome to acoustic wedding singer Matthew Stephens. Matthew provides music for your entire day, from the ceremony through to the evening party.

He’s based in Yorkshire and regularly travels to weddings in Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottingham, The Lake District and more.
