Steph and Sean’s wedding is family focused, all about the party – it breaks any stuffy old rules about weddings… and it’s fabulous. The pretty summer flowers are gorgeous, the bride and groom look fantastic – this is real rock ‘n’ roll attitude with a modern twist and I LOVE it!

“The day forged a wonderful balance of fierce rock n’ roll attitude alongside a cool vintage playfulness that brought out some amazing and lively personalities to say the least! It was an absolute pleasure to capture them and their gorgeous (and hilarious) little family and my word what a fun day we had immersing ourselves in all of the action!” ~ York Place Studios

I LOVE all the colour in Anna and John’s Hampshire wedding – it’s wonderful. Orchids and paper cranes in vibrant colours make this a real treat for my eyes – and this gorgeous couple put so much into decorating their venue, my screen looks like summer! Don’t miss their table plan – it truly is a work of art 🙂

John and I both have eclectic taste, we were both really influenced by travel especially to tropical lands. The bright and colourful flowers and decorations of these tropical destinations helped us to choose our colour scheme. I also have a love of orchids, they are so beautiful and elegant, origami cranes just felt right.

Our flowers were everything and more than we could have imagined! Lovely Lynne (http://www.fioribylynne.co.uk/) was amazing, her wealth of knowledge and ideas led to the creation of one of my favourite aspects of our day. The bright, colourful exotic flowers encompassed the theme of the wedding.

Today’s gorgeous couple Su and Mark were married in the summer and their day is so wonderfully personal, quirky and unique – with fish, lego tattoos for all the guests, oodles of home made touches and home made mead (or perfume, depending who you ask!) I also adore the horror inspired wedding cake – such a talking point and really creatively done (truly!) – and the images are fabulous. When wedding blogs encourage you to have a wedding which reflects your personalities, this is exactly what we mean!

“We had bunting in the marquee, lots of fairy lights for when it got dark, a ‘best day ever’ banner, a big inflatable flamingo and crocodile. The table plan was a map of the world made up of spots with all the places we’d ever been marked on. Each table was assigned a country/place. At the table, there was a photo of a memory from that place and a short story about something funny that happened there.

I know: festival-esque isn’t even a word (even if I try and make it look like one by adding a hyphen). But it perfectly describes the wonderful spirit and sense of fun in today’s glorious barn wedding – and I know you’ll get it when you see the fabulous photos telling the story of Helena and Chris’s wedding day.

“Helena & Chris’s barn wedding had such a fun, relaxed vibe that the vibrant mix of personalities and friendships (and especially the VERY excited kids!) provided so many great collective moments throughout the day, not least as Chris’s amazing Reggae band ‘The Reggaelators’ rocked the house into the early hours until everyone was ready to grab a sleeping bag and hit their tents!”

I love Suzanne and Dan’s wedding – it’s relaxed, homemade, filled with DIY and the loveliest personal touches. It’s also at a winery… which ticks every box for me!

“My mum did our flowers as she’s a horticulturalist and I knew that no-one could do them better. We had Cornish wildflowers in a blue, pink, lilac and white colour palette, and they were arranged in sweet little jam jars.

The venue was a converted barn with beautiful exposed bricks, so we just added lighting, bunting, flowers on the windowsills, and the table decorations. The whole venue and setting was very picturesque, so we didn’t want to gild the lily.

I made the invitations, bunting, table plan display, and cutlery pouches, which also served as name place settings at the table. I did enjoy them as I allowed myself plenty of time to complete them – I’m sure it would have been much more stressful if I’d had to rush.

Jennie & Andy’s wedding is just so wonderfully bright and filled with the loveliest flowers – the long, wooden tables at Dorney Court look stunning – and our bride and groom are such a gorgeous couple – you will love this… I saved it for Sunday so there’s plenty of time for you to Pin away to your heart’s content! Enjoy.

“I had a clear idea on what I wanted for the flowers – colourful, wild and unstructured. We chose to use Siobhan (of La Belle Floral Designs) having seen the beautiful arrangements she made for my friend’s wedding. She tolerated my fussiness about the colour scheme (no purple!!) and let me choose specific bottles from her collection for our table displays. The flowers surpassed all our expectations – as well as choosing a stunning selection of flowers she used herbs in the table decorations and bouquets which gave off a beautiful scent. I would thoroughly recommend her!

The style of Chell and Ben’s wedding is wonderful: this is a themed wedding done beautifully, and it’s a joy to scroll through their images! When this wonderfully sparkly, gold, glamorous wedding landed in my inbox I knew you’d adore every detail…

Oh my god I was obsessed with my wedding dress! We knew the theme we wanted almost straight away; Great Gatsby Glamour. I went online to search for 1920s style dresses and instantly fell in love with the Jenny Packham Eden dress in Platinum. It had 1920’s decadence but with a bridal twist. Effortlessly stylish and beautiful without being over the top. The detailing of all the sequins and beading made it stand out above all other dresses. I am still totally in love with it now and am always looking for 1920s events I can use as an excuse to wear it again. I’m even contemplating bringing it on our honeymoon to the Maldives so I can get some more beautiful photographs in it!

Happy Sunday lovelies! I hope you’re looking forward to a relaxing day – but before you head out anywhere, I have one of the loveliest summer weddings to inspire you today! Jess & Jon’s wedding took place at a pretty Surrey church with a reception at the beautiful Ewshot Hall in Farnham. It was an elegant but relaxed country house wedding with a beautiful colour palette of soft muted greys, whites and pinks.

Gill Pike was my florist. She is amazing. I gave her my themes and colours and let her work her magic with very little input. The flower arch looked stunning.

Gemma from Harper’s Events was in charge of decorating the venue. All of the guests commented on how elegant it looked, we loved the big illuminating letters.
We also had Victoria from Extremely Lovely Weddings decorate the venue. She was so creative and had beautiful fake trees which made such a difference to the look of the room. Victoria also provided extra bits such as a DIY photobooth , basket of flip flops and a basket of blankets for outside. We would highly recommend these suppliers to anyone getting married.

Danielle and Andy’s wedding is the prettiest floral celebration I’ve seen – with fabulous peonies and the prettiest pink details, it’s wonderful inspiration for a classic summer celebration. I adore Danielle’s hair – her loose plait with tiny flowers is so, so beautiful – I hope you love this wedding as much as I do!

We decided on peony and roses in pink shades as we loved the romantic look and feel of them. We wanted the flowers to compliment and fit in with the venue, so had the floristry done through Narborough Hall Gardens, who grew and arranged all our flowers. The flowers were part of what made the day for us as they were so beautiful, with candelabra and teapot displays, amazing bouquets and a beautiful willow bower and flowers lining the aisle in shepherd crook jars.

“I bought most of the stuff myself… mainly from Hobbycraft, Etsy or Not on the High Street. I was introduced to Elinor Softley who has her own business in decorating weddings and she was an absolute life saver! She completely understood the theme and ideas I had for the day and couldn’t do enough for us. I don’t know what we would have done without her as she dressed the venue by herself on the Friday and helped to take it down on the Sunday! She is amazing. Her company is fairly new, but she is so talented! It’s called Soft Touch Events and you can hire lots of cool things from Elinor…I think I hired pretty much her whole warehouse!

So many of our wedding trends begin in the US. We fell in love with ranch weddings, escort cards, and then calligraphy – big time – which is brilliant! But sometimes I stop, and I wonder why on earth we need that American influence when English weddings are so incredibly inspiring. Take today – Leah & Alex are just sooo stylish; their venue has aeons of history and character to it, and the day looks to be the most amazing party…

“Leah & Alex were amazing to work with. From the first meeting at my local where they’d come all the way from London I knew we were a perfect match. To return the favour I went down to London for their pre wedding shoot at Kew gardens; they had their first date there, got engaged there and as well as the PWS the wedding theme was all about the gardens. I knew after taking those photos in sweltering June sun (You can see them here http://www.vickerstaffphotography.co.uk/kew-gardens-london-pre-wedding-portraits/) that they were going to be a dream to photograph…… I was spot on.

“Claire and Rick are just the loveliest people, we got on like a house on fire straight away and spent a lot of time together during our first meetings and engagement shoot which i think just made us so comfortable we were more like friends.

The day being at the AMAZING Bowes Museum was probably the highlight for me, as a photographer working there is just brilliant as it has so much character and beauty it made creating lovely images easy peasy!”
