Catherine and Florent’s destination wedding in France looks like a dream come true. The gorgeous bride and groom travelled to the south-east of France, to a fairytale venue with views of the distant mountains, for their beautiful, intimate summer wedding. I adore the light, bright colours they used to style their day: mint and delicate pink are so fresh and summery – and the images by English Wedding Blog sponsor Amanda Karen Photography are out of this world.

We searched online for a photographer who was willing to travel. We fell in love with Amanda and Hutch’s style of photography. They had taking wedding photos in France and in a chateau in their bucket list, which is exactly what we were planning for our wedding, so it was a perfect match. After meeting Amanda, and seeing how lovely she was, we were thrilled to choose them as our photographers.

Today’s wedding is just amazing – the styling is all whites and greens, a key trend for the year and so beautifully done. I LOVE the florals more than I could even begin to say! Gorgeous bride Emily looked stunning in her beautiful gown by Temperley, with stunning Jimmy Choo shoes. The family pet pugs even wore special flowers on their collars – so cute! The flowers for the marquee reception were particularly stunning including a hanging floral pole. The florals were soft greens and whites and included peonies, roses, tulips, jasmine and trailing vines. All supplied by Through the Looking Glass Flowers. The beautiful cake which perfectly fits all the styling of the day was supplied by Emily Jane Cakes.

Our theme was traditional and ethereal – we wanted it to be an English Country wedding but without any of the cliches or trends. Jonathan and I are known as ‘Toad and Pig’ so we found ways to incorporate that into the day. There were little jars filled with pig and toad sweets for each guest that my mum made. Our caterer’s husband made a bar for the marquee too which was really cool!

Alexandra and Damien were married in Bedfordshire in May. Their day is so pretty, with feminine flowers in soft shades – but I love how their focus is on family and celebrating their love. The special touches of fairy lights and pretty florals just make it all the more special, and lovely English Wedding Blog sponsor Becky Harley Photography captures it all so beautifully…

I was four months pregnant when we walked down the aisle, so we felt blessed to have our little one with us on the day. We feel even more close now, a proper team! The wedding brought all our families and friends together and new friends were made, and old friends reacquainted.

We didn’t have a theme as such. We wanted the day to be relaxed and casual. As the venue (a country pub) was so beautiful already we didn’t need to do too much decorating.

So today is the day I’ve decided to wear a red dress when I get married. I’ll have to un-blue my hair a little, but it will be so worth it. I just love how incredible Liz looks in this red dress. She is absolutely captivating, beautiful – everything a bride should be and then some. And the colour flows through the entire day with pretty florals and accents of red dotted around the decor and styling for this beautiful Pencoed House wedding. Definitely one of my favourite weddings of the year, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

The flowers were amazing and created with such love. My mum did them and she spent months gathering small vases from charity shops to build up colour collections. Some flowers were from a florist, but others we picked together.

I just love this wedding to bits. It’s SO pretty – all the flowers, the exquisitely crafted wedding cake, and Stef’s adorable dress (and the way she LOVES wearing it!) – they’re the loveliest couple and I have been so excited to share their wedding with you on the English Wedding Blog!

The flowers from Blue Daisies Florist were the main decoration. We had collected loads of vases which were all different styles and shapes – the florist then displayed these everywhere in the room so wherever you were all you could see was our spring blooms!! I was so pleased with our flowers – they were beautiful and the room just smelt amazing…. everywhere you looked there were flowers. The colours were perfect.

Alex & Laura’s wedding is in the most amazing ‘venue’ – if we can describe a 19th century transatlantic steamship as a wedding venue! I love their creativity in choosing a space which really sets the scene for a memorable and adventurous wedding day. This is all so gorgeous: Laura is stunning in a shorter length dress and the nighttime photos taken after their reception are wonderfully unique and exciting!

“Less was more with the SS Great Britain. There was already such an incredible back drop that putting too much onto it would have taken away from the ship. We just added some some fairy lights and bunting to the party space. Alex’s mum made meters and meters of bunting which was a total labour of love! My mum made our wedding cake, put together the favour bottles and we all had a lovely time putting together the table plan. I think there were about 10 different print outs, countless uses of a guillotine!”

Canals have a romance all of their very own, don’t you think? If you’ve ever strolled along a canal before sunset you’ll know how wonderfully tranquil those towpaths can be. The adventure of drifting through England’s hidden waterways is one I dream of experiencing, one day. So Heather and Michael’s day has my heart: their photos by the locks are beautiful; their tipi reception is full of character and quaint old English charm – it’s perfect.

“The ceremony was held in a very low key structure next to a canal in Leicestershire with the reception in the tipi next to it. The venue is fairly new and quite quirky with narrow boats passing by and a bar that looks like a moored up boat.

Heather made all the decor herself and it was lovely. Heather and Michael are expecting a baby so the day was full of lots of lovely emotional moments, which wedding photographer Helen King captures beautifully in the images.

Caswell House in Oxford was the perfect venue – it’s a beautiful venue with lots of areas for photos. The team at Caswell are incredible, they made every effort on the day to make it special, including bringing canapés during the photos!

Hannah and Tim are fortunate enough to have a very talented family friend who arranged their venue flowers and Hannah’s Nan is a retired florist so she arranged the bouquets. Most of the flowers were sourced from Green & Gorgeous flower farm and supplemented with some supermarket flowers and greenery from home. The rented milk churns and watering cans, vases and jam jars were perfect for other displays and table flowers.

Super lovely English Wedding Blog sponsor Ayshea Goldberg got in touch a little while ago  with this lovely wedding from May. She told me the weather wasn’t great (VERY windy and chilly) but Krissy and Simon still insisted on going to the beach for their photos – and we’re both thrilled that they did!

“The day was full of homemade details, Krissy’s nanna had made the silk flower bouquets (which looked really nice), and Krissy made all the bunting and table centrepieces herself. The cake was made by Simon’s Mum in their favourite flavours – including a gluten free option. Their cake topper included a little black cat as they have a rescue cat called Winnie. They wanted a very DIY, easy going vibe which is exactly what they achieved.”

beautiful elopement images from Gretna Green, images by Camilla Lucinda Photography (16)

There’s something about an elopement – the romance of it all just gets me, every time! Nick and Kristina’s love just shines from the photos of their special day. There’s no nerves, none of the formality or embarrassment that being in front of a big crowd of people can sometimes bring. These two lovely people are joyful, blissfully happy from the moment we first see them – and yes, it makes me want to elope, right now, to Gretna Green!

The fact it was just us 2 made it so incredibly special – we remember every single word of our wedding vows… Don’t lose sight of what getting married is all about. Being married is the same but everything is different! It’s hard to explain, but there is a deep and strong bond that exsists, that inextricably links you together forever.

Huge thanks to lovely Camilla Lucinda Photography for sharing these beautiful moments with us today!

Gill and Andy’s wedding is like a dream – the perfect beach location; breathtaking spots for those keep-forever photographs and the prettiest of seaside styling touches. They married at Tunnels Beaches in Devon, and chose Evolve Photography to capture their day and the fabulous Pumpkin & Pye for beautiful florals.

Gill’s bridal separates are exquisite – she knew she wanted a skirt and a top rather than a dress. “I tried on about 20 different dresses before I found a store that had a skirt and a top. I knew as soon as I put it on that it was the one! The designer was Karen Willis Holmes and the boutique I bought it from was Martin Charles Bridal in Peterborough. I couldn’t recommend Martin highly enough. He is incredibly talented and made my dress fit like a glove.

I decided that my dress was a statement enough and didn’t want it to be overpowered by lots of jewellery so I kept it simple. I had feather earrings which went with my boho theme and a bangle my mother had given to me for my something new with sapphires in it to match my engagement ring and wedding band.
