Happy weekend my lovelies!! I hope you’re keeping snug and warm, wherever you are! Boy, is it COLD outside!!! But what better way to spend a chilly old English weekend than indulging in a little wedding pretty! Today’s gorgeous happy couple are Debbie and Sunil, who chose Woburn Sculpture Gallery for their marriage and celebrations. Our lovely friend Nicola Norton was their Woburn wedding photographer for the day. Remember the heatwave last summer? This wedding fell bang in the middle of it all… so let’s transport you back to warm, sunny days for something absolutely stunning!

The venue has more wow factor than most – with impressive pillars and marble sculptures surrounding the space, and a row of windows letting in all the light – it was built as an orangery in the olden days when they didn’t have an inkling of how gorgeous a wedding venue it would make! While hiring Woburn Sculpture Gallery doesn’t come cheap, you will save a fortune on venue decor here! Our happy couple kept things to a minimum by opting for a simple bouquet and some light up letters along the wall, which make a great contrast with the old fashioned portraits on the walls above!

Morning everyone! These two are the most adorable couple – and with an effortlessly beautiful style I adore. Kate’s Pronovias dress – the detail on Jack’s M&S suit – the bouquet, OH the bouquet!! Their day has everything, it’s gorgeous and magical and everything a wedding should be, from the ceremony at St Marks Church in Dunham Massey to the celebrations in the village hall afterwards. There are fabulous photos here to make you swoon, giggle and cry happy tears all at once. Huge thank yous to lovely Jess Yarwood Photography for sharing her images of this stunning September wedding, and massive congrats to gorgeous bride and groom Kate and Jack for being so damn amazing. LOVE this!!

Our wedding was a day of love, fun and our favorite people. The style was ‘Country chic’ (more country, less chic!). We wanted to minimize waste so beg, stole and borrowed all the flowers and foliage from our families’ gardens we could convince them not to prune over the summer. The table decorations were mostly donated from friends, including logs from felled trees and a stump heroically carried home by Jack after a long walk, or sourced from second hand stores and websites.

Today’s gorgeous couple chose an outstanding venue for their wedding weekend, styling their day with help from friends and family and choosing their suppliers carefully to create an amazing wedding day. Our lovely friend and Dorset wedding photographer Linus Moran Photography was at West Axnoller Farm to capture the day from beginning to end, and his photos are just wonderful. Michelle’s dress is stunning, and her review of bridal boutique The Wedding Dress Dorset makes me want to sing their praises from the rafters! This is a fabulous, elegant and classic spring wedding and I do hope you love it as much as I do.

How did you choose your photographer?

We first met Linus at Kingston Mauward wedding fair and then researched his work on his website. We got a range of prices from small independent photographers and larger businesses, but we wanted a photographer with a less formal style who focused more on taking un-posed photos as they happened, as well as having the opportunity to film the day. We also thought his films really captured the emotions of the day and that’s what sealed the deal for us.

I thought it would be lovely to end this week with a beautiful wedding full of swoonworthy styling ideas and gorgeous sunshine! So happy Sunday everyone – here are gorgeous bride and groom Fiona and Byrne, with their West Dean College (Sussex) wedding. The florals by The Floral Artisan are spectacular, the marquee styling is lush and luxurious. I hope you love it!

Byrne and Fiona chose wedding photographers Beard + Mane to capture their day.

It was the most glorious summer day, the venue was outstandingly beautiful (pergola and marquee), the couple were a total delight and the dancefloor was completely insane. I’m not sure anyone (especially the DJ) expected the riot he got when he played Toto’s Africa but I guess that’s what you should expect when half the guests are South African! You’ll find listening to the song and scrolling through this photos is a particularly pleasing experience…!

Hello there beautiful! I hope you’re having a wonderful day and staying snuggled up and warm inside! While our hearts and minds are full of Christmas, I have the loveliest wedding to share with you today. Issy and Alistair married at Milling Barn in Buntingford at Christmas time and chose lovely Becky Harley as their wedding photographer. The bouquet and styling are insanely beautiful, Issy is stunning in a modern style Maggie Sottero dress and Alistair oh so handsome in his RAF uniform. There are berries and holly and evergreens galore in this wonderful winter barn wedding, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Our wedding venue was Milling Barn, Bluntswood Hall, Buntingford – a wonderfully rustic barn with plenty of countryside charm. The barn is beautifully decorated anyway so we wanted to enhance what was already there. We cut down ivy from the garden and wound it around the staircase, bannisters, and some hoops hanging on the walls. We bought a mistletoe ball which hung from the ceiling in the ceremony room, and had a big branch of mistletoe hanging above everyone in the reception room. Apart from that we just had LED candles lining the aisle and berry-lined hearts on the walls.

Then on Wednesday it’s all about Hollywood glamour with a gorgeous photoshoot from West Sussex suppliers. On Thursday we’re getting prepared for Christmas proposals – it literally is the most wonderful time of the year!   – and Friday brings our year of weddings to a close with a stunning winter wedding in Hertfordshire. Shall we begin?!

Hey lovelies! Does anyone have snow yet? We’ve seen a sprinkling… I wonder if it’s settling prettily in Scotland right now?! Anyone? I’m excited to be sharing more winter weddings with you over these next few weeks, following on from Adam and Lauren‘s beautifully snowy day featured on Wednesday! Today it’s the turn of gorgeous couple Kayleigh and Alex, whose wedding was at the beautiful Waddesdon Dairy in Buckinghamshire on the 16th of December last year.

Alex is from Scotland so there was plenty of tartan to be seen and the couple had picked a colour theme that not only worked perfectly with the family tartan but also the season. The bridesmaids wore gorgeous emerald green dresses and the flowers had an abundance of deep green foliage with red berries and blue ribbon creating a really decadent display.

There was a little snow on the ground and the temperature was close to freezing but the couple braved the winter weather to get some lovely photos around the grounds of the venue. Inside the dining room had two huge open fires to keep guests warm, adding to the cosy and intimate feel of the day.

A brilliantly fun wedding story in pictures told by York Place Studios at Appletreewick Craven Arms (38)

Time doesn’t stand still at weddings. Wedding blogs and magazines full of photos give the impression that a wedding is a series of amazing moments, stepping from one to another with a ‘click’, ‘click’ of a camera shutter at every step along the way. But the brides and grooms on English Wedding tell me – almost every time – that the day goes by SO FAST – it’s a sprint, a story which keeps on running like a fast-paced movie. There can be moments where ten things happen in the flash of an eye; and moments of stillness too.

Why am I saying all this? Because today’s wedding from York Place Studios really brings it to mind. Rebecca and John’s wedding photos tell more than their story: they tell the story of everyone at their wedding – the joy and tears of the adorable children in their family. The excitement of their dogs as they get to play with so many brilliant people! The preparations in the morning, the ceremony, the reception and the dancing. I don’t doubt it felt as though this fabulous day was over in a second. But I know I could spend hours flicking through the wonderful photos, and seeing more moments to make me smile every time!

I am feeling FESTIVE today!! Christmas calligraphy orders are almost done (and we’ve had such a brilliant year with family tree orders and calligraphy workshop bookings – it’s ace!) – I have a new jumper to snuggle into and I’m generally getting in the mood for the party season. So when I spotted beautiful Lauren and Adam’s stunning Christmas wedding from Rachel Joyce in my inbox, it just felt PERFECT to share with you! There’s everything: mulled wine, Christmas trees, sparklers and even SNOW!!

We had met with a couple of photographers who we didn’t feel entirely happy about, then somebody recommended Rachel. She was excellent to communicate with and once we met with her we knew straight away. She was kind and friendly, asked lots of questions and seemed genuinely interested in what we were planning for the wedding. She talked us through her style of photography and showed us albums of previous weddings she had photographed and we knew she was right for us. She clearly loves her job and it shows!

Morning lovelies! How was your weekend? We’re all Christmassed-up at English Wedding HQ and ready to party from right now!!! But first… of course we have some fabulous weddings and ideas to share with you this week. We’re starting with gorgeous bride and groom Rosie and Dom, who were married in September at The Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter.

Photographer Lee Maxwell got in touch – shooting Rosie and Dom’s wedding made him the first ever wedding photographer at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum to capture a wedding ceremony. The wedding reception was at Double Locks – a wonderful venue for a relaxed wedding reception. The spirit of this gorgeous wedding really comes across in the photos, which I hope you’ll love as much as I do!

We made all our own decorations and it was worth it, but it required lots of planning and preparation and we still ended up spending a bit on things we didn’t need in the end. Although we’re not particularly creative people and we gave ourselves lots to do, it was manageable because we knew our limits and didn’t try anything too ambitious. But until we’d actually finished I was definitely worried it wouldn’t look right!
