Is one of your wedding venue options giving you butterflies in your stomach? One of the biggest wedding tasks is choosing the venue. It can be hard to know for sure when you are seeing the venue of your dreams, with so many beautiful options to choose from! Here are a few simple clues from The Wedding Guide – if you say YES to all of these, you will know when you have found THE venue for your wedding.

Time doesn’t stand still at weddings. Wedding blogs and magazines full of photos give the impression that a wedding is a series of amazing moments, stepping from one to another with a ‘click’, ‘click’ of a camera shutter at every step along the way. But the brides and grooms on English Wedding tell me – almost every time – that the day goes by SO FAST – it’s a sprint, a story which keeps on running like a fast-paced movie. There can be moments where ten things happen in the flash of an eye; and moments of stillness too.

It’s ALL about the florals today – gorgeous bride Katie and hubby Paul married in the summertime and chose all the glorious garden flowers – the stars are bright pink peonies, which nestle beautifully alongside roses and delphiniums, thistles and oodles of delicate greenery. The stunning images of their wedding are by our lovely friend and English Wedding member Nicola Norton Photography

We knew we wanted a relaxed venue preferably in a barn so did a lot of googling. As soon as we visited Micklefield Hall we were blown away by the setting and how beautiful it was so knew it was the right place for our wedding.

I am feeling FESTIVE today!! Christmas calligraphy orders are almost done (and we’ve had such a brilliant year with family tree orders and calligraphy workshop bookings – it’s ace!) – I have a new jumper to snuggle into and I’m generally getting in the mood for the party season. So when I spotted beautiful Lauren and Adam’s stunning Christmas wedding from Rachel Joyce in my inbox, it just felt PERFECT to share with you! There’s everything: mulled wine, Christmas trees, sparklers and even SNOW!!
