The most amazing personal touch for your wedding

Published by Claire Gould on

It’s not often I stumble across something really special, new, unique and different for weddings. (I’ve been blogging here at English Wedding since 2009…) but this year, the couples we’ve featured on the blog have mentioned, enough times to make me sit up and take note, something absolutely brilliant.

I’ll just stop for a moment and say this isn’t a sponsored post. It’s simply something I’ve found and love so much I couldn’t resist sharing! (with a little help from a good friend).

The Wedding Illustrator brings a new and wonderful talent to UK weddings. Aaron will paint your guests’ portraits in glorious watercolour as a keepsake of your day. He’s a live wedding painter, both entertainment and a fantastic talking point for your guests. I’ve heard the loveliest things about Aaron, and as we had some stunning images via lovely Nathan at Libra Photographic, I couldn’t resist writing this little feature to tell you all about him!

London bride Sarah told us, “I booked [The Wedding Illustrator] as a surprise for Chris on the wedding morning. I wanted something different and wanted to have an image we could display alongside our photos and look at every day. Aaron also painted our guests at our reception venue so they had something to take home and remember our special day. His work is outstanding.”

Ross & Sarah said, “Aaron Jacob Jones is a very talented artist who illustrates for events. He paints guest portraits for people that they can take home from the wedding. He can turn around a portrait of a couple in 6-8 minutes but they aren’t caricatures like you might get on holiday – they are done in watercolour and ink and are absolutely gorgeous. When I spoke with Aaron I immediately knew we would get on – he’s such a lovely guy. On top of the guest portraits, he did the most wonderful illustration of us during the ceremony that he presented to us in the evening framed for us to keep as a souvenir of the day.”

All of the images shown are from Sarah & Ross’s wedding – one of our absolute favourites from this year. Huge thanks to Dorset wedding photographer Nathan at Libra Photographic for sharing these with us!
