Luxuriously elegant meets timeless simplicity – a true classic
What happens when you combine luxury and simplicity? Magic, that’s what! We’re thrilled to be sharing a beautiful, natural inspiration shoot with some fabulous English Wedding members today! Lovely Captured by Crissi* sent this one in, and I was so excited to see our lovely friends Whitestem and Katherine and her Camera on the team who worked so hard to create this beauty! The styling is out of this world, we’re head over heels in love with all the lush greenery, and the images are beautiful, heartfelt and full of warmth.
*Crissi has THE most fascinating About page on her website. Do have a read, it will brighten your day!

With a venue as beautiful as Hale Park, we knew that a little would go a long way and we wanted to complement the beauty of the room, whilst also creating an air of elegance.
Hale Park is a blank canvas so we had to find a company that supplies tables and chairs. Quality Marquee Hire have a range of products available for hire and could not do more to help. They supplied their white Chiavari chairs that were perfect for both the ceremony and the table set ups.
The room at Hale Park is used as the ceremony and reception room. You have the option of a smaller, intimate wedding, or a larger one depending on the couple’s preferences. We opted for an intimate party, and using the impressive fireplace as a starting point, created an amazing backdrop that was sure to have people talking for days to come.
We wanted to grab your attention from the moment you walked in the room and with Whitestem’s large ‘shaggies’ and their square archway, there was no way anyone would be looking elsewhere!
Love by Design used gold décor and black candles to dress the fireplace, and Rhoda Louise Floral Events completed the look with her eucalyptus sprays, white florals and black-tie leaves. We also used this set up to frame the beautiful white and gold cake from Bears Cakes and Bakes. This was achieved perfectly by our stylist Love by Design Events. She teamed up gold crockery, cutlery and candlesticks, with a backdrop of white and hints of black, giving a subtle black-tie feel. This was then further enhanced by our florist, Rhoda Louisa Floral Events, and the living tree décor company, Whitestem. By using tall olive and citrus trees for the table decor, and a trail of eucalyptus trees across the three worked together to create a table scape that was beautiful and interesting. Every time you looked you would notice a new detail that you hadn’t before. It also allows plenty of space for guests to chat while they enjoy their food.
The couple who are modelling are a real life couple, who are actually getting married for real this year. They are having a traditional Indian wedding and were eager for the chance to get to wear a white dress and suit. They were naturals in front of the camera, and you can feel their love for each other through the images. There were lots of tender moments, from kisses on the forehead to brushing windswept hair out of her eyes and it was beautiful to witness them together. They are actually going to display these photos at their wedding which is such an honour!
We decided to have a ‘first look’ before the ceremony. First looks are more common in America but becoming popular here and I can really see why. A lot of couples are choosing to break traditions such as not seeing each other beforehand and a first look still allows that moment to be captured. The groom hadn’t seen the bride beforehand so we captured his genuine reaction and it is such a pure moment, I’m overjoyed that we did it.
I wanted the bride to have classic make up with an elegant updo and I think you’d agree our Hair and make up artist Lee O’D Make Up pulled it off seamlessly. Teaming the updo with a statement headpiece from Ashley Wild Bridal and a beautiful fitted Tiffanys Dress with lace detailing, cut outs and a keyhole back from Olivia George Bridal created a truly effortless yet jaw dropping look.
We kept the flowers simple. White with lots of greenery. Rhoda Louise Floral Designs opted to use white peonies and tulips with eucalyptus leaves to create a simple, classic bouquet and buttonhole, with some spare florals to spread throughout the tablescape and ceremony. Using these long time favourites helped tie the whole look of the day together.
There is a bit of a story to the stationery and why there are two separate sets. The original stationer was Love Paper Co, who created a beautiful bespoke set and menus especially for the shoot. These were black with gold foil, so they would really stand out when placed on the table. Unfortunately, the parcel was lost in the post and arrived the week following the shoot.
I styled a flat lay using similar components to help bring the beautiful set into the shoot. The day before the shoot, Graceful Lace Stationery was able to provide us with a small stationery set that she already had, that fit with the colours. I think you’ll agree that both sets are beautiful.
