Your Sutton Coldfield wedding, with TDR Bridal

Published by Claire Gould on

My geography is poor – like, I could reel off a list of florists and bridal boutiques and tell you where they’re based, but ask me to point at them on a map and I’d be grabbing for Google! Is it crazy that I only know UK towns and counties by their wedding suppliers?! One of those I know best of all from wedding blogging is the lovely TDR Bridal in Halesowen, a town I’ve whizzed by on the M5 many times… literally minutes away from TDR Bridal and without ever popping in for a coffee!

In these crazy times me and the girls at TDR thought we’d take you on a virtual road trip around the area – and we’re focusing on some favourite wedding venues around Sutton Coldfield and a little further afield. There are some absolute gems in the area, as recommended by TDR, by their brides and as seen on English Wedding!

Our favourite Sutton Coldfield wedding venues are Moxhull Hall (pictured), a Victorian manor house with stunning gardens for outdoor weddings and elegant furnishings for stunning indoor celebrations. We featured Emma & Paul’s Moxhull Hall wedding last year on the blog. Then there’s the fabulous Shustoke BarnHeather and Houw tied the knot here. Their 18th century red brick barn is a fabulous wedding space, owned by the Cripps & Co group. The girls at TDR also recommend the fantastic New Hall Hotel –  England’s oldest listed inhabited moated house and a venue so full of history it practically oozes from the walls!

For those of you based in Sutton Coldfield but looking a little further afield, there are some amazing wedding suppliers in the region. Let’s not forget the lovely ladies at TDR Bridal, whose boutique has welcomed and dressed many Sutton Coldfield brides! They get such fabulous reviews for the experience they offer their customers because at TDR it’s about more than just the dress – your wedding dress shopping experience has to be special, and the girls pour their hearts and souls into looking after every bride-to-be who visits their boutique.

Being so close to the M5, TDR Bridal is easily reached from a wide area – Sutton Coldfield is only half an hour away, and the boutique is a short journey from Birmingham, Coventry, Stourbridge and Worcester for this multi-award-winning bridal boutique. For grooms there’s TDR Menswear – where Style Comes as Standard with the most up-to-date, modern and stylish, yet affordable suits for all wedding styles.

Let’s venture just a little further afield and discover more wedding venues and suppliers in the areas around Sutton Coldfield, shall we?

There’s a wonderfully eclectic choice of venues to discover – some of our faves are Alrewas Hayes – we LOVED Lucy & Tom’s wedding here, featured not so long ago. Then there’s classically elegant Swinfen Hall, Hawkesyard Estate, blank canvas venue Bilston Brook Wedding Barn and Grade II listed Middleton Hall.

Then there’s Somerford Hall, Fairlawns Hotel and last but not least the charming Mythe Barn.

For wedding photography you’re spoilt for choice: English Wedding members J S Coates and Hannah K Photography are just around the corner. You won’t have missed the images by Birmingham wedding photographer Damian Burcher, scattered through this post – aren’t they fab? The ladies at TDR recommend Nellie Photography, Katie Ingram and Bohemian Rose Photography, all local female wedding photographers. The supremely talented Clive Blair is a top favourite, as are Lisa Lander, Cris Lowis and lovely Daffodil Waves. We also love S2 Images and Jo Hastings Photography.

For wedding flowers I love Greenery and Co and for stationery Flourish and Flora. Ben the Cake Man will wow you with his cakes, and for styling look no further than the fabulous
Ava Event Styling and lovely Martina at Wonderful Events.

That concludes our little road trip to and around Sutton Coldfield – and I hope all of you local brides and grooms have found our recommendations really useful! Huge thanks to the ladies at TDR Bridal for their contributions ? of course!
