This one’s special. Every once in a while I’m sent a wedding which absolutely blows me away – the romance of it all, the couple, the photography and the styling – and it goes STRAIGHT into my secret favourite weddings folder, ready to share again at Christmas. And on that note… hello Laura & Rob! These two just smile all day long. Their (safely before covid) wedding is joyful, beautiful and deliciously elegant with stunning styling touches. And a little surprise – well, a big surprise – instead of a wedding car. It’s like the biggest alternative-to-a-wedding-car we’ve ever seen, and it’s extra wonderful because of the story behind it. Oh, and one of our fave photographers gets a glowing review from the happy couple: lovely Midlands wedding photographer J S Coates was a big part of Laura & Rob’s day, and his photos are just incredible. Let’s dive in, shall we?“english

My geography is poor – like, I could reel off a list of florists and bridal boutiques and tell you where they’re based, but ask me to point at them on a map and I’d be grabbing for Google! Is it crazy that I only know UK towns and counties by their wedding suppliers?! One of those I know best of all from wedding blogging is the lovely TDR Bridal in Halesowen, a town I’ve whizzed by on the M5 many times… literally minutes away from TDR Bridal and without ever popping in for a coffee!

When I get a credit for “Beer” in a couple’s list of favourite suppliers, I know to expect a pretty special wedding. (Tip: there’s no place for Carling at weddings!) – and Rachel & Shaun’s day lives up to expectations, flies past them in a blaze of beauty and leaves me wanting more. Their day was epic. They’re a gorgeous couple, the vibe of the entire day is joyful – the smiles never stop from bridal prep through to the evening spent crowdsurfing. I love these two. Hey gorgeous! Are you feeling refreshed after the sunny weekend? I have some treats in store for you this week… and we’re starting today with a beautiful reminder that things WILL go back to normal and we WILL have parties and hugs and proper weddings again. I’m desperately hoping it’s soon – because this kind of loveliness is too special to miss. Lexi and Chris’s wedding had everything: an outdoor ceremony under an ancient tree with Chris’s military kit giving the occasion a certain gravitas… and Lexi is just STUNNING! They celebrated with a tipi reception and festival / fete inspired party afterwards, and the dancing went on until the early hours. Memories, hey? For now, let’s celebrate with this gorgeous pair.

When Jonathan emailed me and mentioned “the coolest wedding dress ever” I was hooked! This is a beaut of a wedding: full of fun, colour and the most wonderful DIY details. Jade & Matt tied the knot at Newland Bishop Farm in May, with a festival themed day and a tipi reception. There were space hoppers, pom poms, blasts of colour EVERYWHERE, a picnic… a totally chilled out wedding. Photographer Jonathan – JS Coates Wedding Photography – described Jade & Matt’s day as “a burst of colour and smiles”. Just what we need on our screens right now, I think!
