I bloody love this wedding – it’s full of love and laughter and FUN and hugs. There are belly laughs, there are beautiful styling touches. The setting is fabulous and the story of the day makes me smile. Oh, and Nicola and Alex are the most gorgeous couple! This is exactly how I imagine weddings after lockdown to be: the most amazing celebrations full of glorious contact and friendship and happiness. And the photos by super lovely (and major talented) Yorkshire wedding photographer John Hope tell the story of Nicola and Alex’s day beautifully.

Talton Lodge is a fantastic tipi wedding venue near Stratford-upon-Avon. Nicola & Alex were married outdoors beside ancient acacia trees with the backdrop of the beautiful gardens and 300 year old Talton House. The tipi structure here is up all summer long; they made the most of the space with Victorian fairground games, making the most of the bouncy castle and hiring a roaming band to jazz up the atmosphere.

Nicola’s lace dress is lovely: timeless and classic (with that gorgeous sparkly belt detail) but still perfect for a festival wedding – and glorious for dancing as you’ll see from the EPIC dance floor pics at the end of the feature! Her wildflower bouquet is naturally beautiful, not too much and definitely with that wonderful ‘simply picked’ look. I love seeing bridesmaids in individual dresses too: Nicola’s girls look fab in shorter, white dresses – they’re a lovely choice for a summer festival celebration.

Alex & Nicola’s humanist wedding ticks all the boxes – honestly, if there’s a ‘style’ of wedding I could urge everyone to consider, it’s this: humanist ceremonies are wonderfully personal (and celebrant Ewan Main gets some especially fantastic reviews), adaptable and relaxed. The decor is the final, brilliant touch which gives their day oodles of personality – the light up letters (done brilliantly), creative signage and simple gypsophila floral styling give their day a cosy, handcrafted look. The party ends in style with a bonfire and sparkler finish… so scroll ALL the way down for some truly awesome festival wedding moments!
