A fairytale of soft tones, for a beautiful wedding look from Sissons Barn

Published by Claire Gould on

Take a little time today to breathe, to relax and to escape from reality with this tranquil and beautiful wedding editorial from Beth, wedding planner at Miss Carlysle & Co. I’ve fallen head over heels in love with the light, the florals, the styling and atmosphere of this enchanting set of images, and I just know you will too. The venue is Sissons Barn, the photographer is Nikki’s Moments. The talented team of Cambridgeshire wedding suppliers created a fairy tale of soft tones, simplicity and a perfect love story. I’ll hand over to Beth to tell you more.

With love,

We decided on a simple, elegant styled shoot which started from a mood board into the creation that came together from the suppliers, with the use of a grey and white theme, through the stationery to the flowers. Traditional but with our very own twist, to inspire a modern couple.

It was a true love story for the modern couple Chelsea and Kristian, with romance in the air, full of laughter and love. From the ceremony through to the wedding breakfast.

Chelsea has two bridal dresses from The White Wardrobe , one strapless and one with straps.

Less is more, the smaller details mean so much.

For the flowers, we opted for white blooms and greenery as they really complimented each other and added to the feel of the barn, we had a beautiful ceiling installation on the chandelier which was above the table setting. Using a fresh palette through creams and white floral features, adding texture and depth with a luxurious feel.

Chelsea’s bouquet was beautiful and really came together with the silks from Silk and Purl, as well as a buttonhole which completed Kristian’s overall look.

The cake was by Kelly’s Kitchen, a gold metallic shade, with the ivory and a softer look to it. Kelly’s marble effect at the bottom was flicked with edible rose gold leaf to add a subtle sparkle. The elongated middle tier added height, which allowed the elegant design to have a wide ribbon draped delicately off the edge and onto the table. The cake has an open sugar peony which draws the eye and really complements the overall décor and theme.

We had 2 semi naked columns used for the ceremony setting, where we had 8 chairs set up from Waterfall Wedding Decor. Kate from Kate Wren Flowers and @wrenprophire worked hard with her assistant to bring the table setting to life, with the table arrangement, with a velvet cloth draped down the middle of the table with floating candles and centrepieces of the flower arrangements to give the table some character. For the immense table setting Kate used her very own candles, silver glass plate chargers with the white dinner plates and white bread plates, grey/ silver goblets, set up ready with the cutlery. It was a really well thought out table setting and represented a wedding day. The table styling was stunning and the items really complimented each other.

The stationery came from Clare Gray Designs – the use of the grey/ monochrome collection with a simple mono line text on the front, the stationery is a thick textured card used for a luxurious finish. The grey and white look linked well with the elegant theme, creating eye-catching stationery items, through from invitations to the welcome sign.

Chelsea’s hair and make-up by Botias Hair and Make up was soft, and had a healthy shine, using Hollywood waves and pearl, bespoke, handmade hair accessories to add the glam finish.
The make-up application and finish was stunning and full glam, using nude pink tones on her cheeks.

Ways to complete this inspiration for your own wedding…

Simplicity – just let the creativity flow and don’t overthink your ideas, less is more.
Florals – using a fresh colour palette.
