Corinne & Paul’s countryside wedding in Cornwall, with Alexa Poppe Photography
Morning lovely! I have been looking forward to sharing this beautiful wedding with you – Corinne and Paul tied the knot at The Green in Upton Cross, in Cornwall. Their intimate wedding was family friendly – with even their adorable pooch playing flower girl! The theme was late summer, rustic countryside and Corinne’s lovely Augusta Jones wedding dress is wonderfully elegant with fabulous movement (see the dancing pics!) and pretty ivory flowers down the back. It’s a beautiful wedding with some wonderfully romantic moments, and I’ve a feeling you’ll love this as much as I do!
Wedding photographer’s website:
How did you choose your photographer?
Alexa was recommended by our wedding venue team. She has a lovely website with clear examples of her previous work, and at a good price.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
Alexa was lovely. We met 9 months earlier and had an engagement shoot, we really liked her style. We were over the moon with our images, she really captured the day like a storybook. It was like re-living our special day all over again. Alexa knew the venue well also which helped 🙂
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
Like re-living the day all over again! I had written a number of images down that I particularly had in mind & Alexa delivered every one!
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
Via our venue/recommendations
What’s your top tip for saving money?
We cut back on eating out and a few other annual luxuries…but generally its your wedding day if you really want something for your big day, go for it! 🙂

My dress and hiring the whole venue for exclusive private use.

Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Rustic browns white and pale pink flowers with green foliage.
Our fresh flowers were white roses Vanessa Collins based in Cornwall.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
We had a white rose back drop behind the top table, swinging whites vales around the oak arbour were we said our vows. Twinkly lights and oak tree slates. The venue’s views and scenery were beautiful.
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
All handcrafted centre pieces made by friend. They were beautiful and exactly how I wanted them. Ive kept them all!
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
Rustic style 3 tiers, each tier a different flavour. Paul lives for cakes so I let him mainly choose, ha! We fortunately had some left over and had cake and wine for days after the wedding…
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We had a live band in the evening, from traditional to Ed Sheeran some of our favourites!
