Morning lovely! I have been looking forward to sharing this beautiful wedding with you – Corinne and Paul tied the knot at The Green in Upton Cross, in Cornwall. Their intimate wedding was family friendly – with even their adorable pooch playing flower girl! The theme was late summer, rustic countryside and Corinne’s lovely Augusta Jones wedding dress is wonderfully elegant with fabulous movement (see the dancing pics!) and pretty ivory flowers down the back. It’s a beautiful wedding with some wonderfully romantic moments, and I’ve a feeling you’ll love this as much as I do!

Alexa was lovely. We met 9 months earlier and had an engagement shoot, we really liked her style. We were over the moon with our images, she really captured the day like a storybook. It was like re-living our special day all over again. Alexa knew the venue well also which helped 🙂

Happy Monday everyone! I thought we’d kick off this week with a really special wedding – one with the loveliest personal touches and a gorgeous bride and groom, in not-so-sunny Cornwall! Proof if ever it was needed that rain won’t spoil your wedding – because the memories captured and the landscape and styling of Chris and Lorna’s day are all so beautiful.

It was forecast to rain all day for Lorna and Chris’ wedding in Cornwall which was a bit of a worry for me as the photographer as well for the couple, but we must have been in a ‘magic pocket’ as the heavy rain turned into slight drizzle for a few hours just when we left St Sampson’s church after the ceremony to head to The Green for the reception and photos. The venue was only a few miles from where Lorna spent her childhood and she loved the familiar scenery. Although the setting was countryside, Lorna and Chris wanted to incorporate a few personal touches related to their connections to sailing- they both wore their sailing boots for the photos in the field. As the weather was very unpredictable Lorna’s mother’s parasol which she had on her wedding day came to good use!

Welcome back to the English Wedding Blog! If you were here yesterday you’ll have seen the first of our weddings of the year – Jess and Rich’s fabulously colourful vintage wedding in London. Today we’re in Cornwall for a beautifully whimsical, DIY-filled country wedding which I know you’ll love.

“We didn’t really have a theme, everything was very ‘us’. I suppose, understated, elegant, natural, romantic. We made a lot of elements ourselves, we love that sort of thing. We made our wooden signs and painted them ourselves, including the menu and table plan which were made from wooden pallets, and the Bride and Groom signs on the backs of our chairs.

Try not to get overwhelmed by the amount that’s on offer to buy or hire for your big day. It’s not about how much decor you have or having things because you’ve seen them on Pinterest and you feel they are compulsory, it’s about your friends and family being together to celebrate your love. Will and I saved so much by spending time on making our decor, thoroughly enjoyed it along the way, and felt so proud on the day because it was all a result of our partnership.

You can win my heart a million times with beautiful lettering… and this is amazing!!! I’m head over heels in love with today’s wedding – it’s gorgeous, I love all the writing! The flowers are so pretty – the cake is perfect! And Jas & Will are so good together – their portraits are super sweet! Love this to bits 🙂
