Bex & Chris’s gorgeous Colehayes Park wildflower wedding with Howell Jones Photography
Hey lovely! I’ve been blown away by the stunning wildflowers and relaxed, boho styling of Chris and Bex’s Devon wedding today. Once again we’re at the fabulous Colehayes Park in Bovey Tracey with their recommended photographer Warren from Howell Jones Photography. You’re going to adore all the floral prettiness – and this is an extra special day because the sunshine played out all day so even the meal was served in the gardens!
Bex and Chris chose a hot and sunny May day to get married – remember the crazy hot summer we had last year? This is pretty much where it all began! Beautiful bride Bex wears a divine boho wedding dress, light and floaty for the summer sunshine. The softly sparkling beaded belt and delicate lace cap sleeves are simply wonderful. Chris looks so handsome in a tailored grey suit with purple tie and pocket square. Sophisticated sunnies complete the outdoor groom look!
The flowers are by Floriography by Vera Fallacy, who is based in Bristol, Somerset. Vera used a white peony as a focal point for the bouquet, surrounding it with the prettiest wildflowers: bluebells and daisies, cornflowers, craspedia, delphiniums, gypsophila, wheat and grasses. The look is just pure summer – perfect for an all-day-long outdoor wedding and I love it!
Bex’s bridesmaids lead the bridal party across the gardens at Colehayes, looking fabulous in shorter length purple dresses in mixed shades. The ceremony is held before the wedding pagoda, which is handcrafted and custom built: it’s a unique location and perfect for a summer wedding, with guests seated on hay bales (and not a tie in sight in the crowd, which I think is brilliant!) and colourful, country style bunting all around.
The wedding breakfast is served on long tables set out in the garden. The atmosphere is relaxed, summertime and as English country garden as can be! As evening draws in, the story of this fabulous English summer wedding just gets better and better. Chris and Bex had a heavy rock band play inside Colehayes Manor in the evening, where Chris ended up in the middle of the mosh pit! [and I wholeheartedly approve!] At midnight this was followed by their own drum n bass night in the cellar of Colehayes Park – it went on until early Sunday morning: a pretty memorable wedding for photographer Warren, who was there!
From beginning to end, this fabulous Devon wedding was captured perfectly by Somerset wedding photographer Howell Jones Photography. Warren is on the recommended supplier list for Colehayes Park, and says “Colehayes park is such a great wedding venue in a beautiful part of the Devon countryside, I always have an amazing time when I am there!… Colehayes, you never, ever disappoint me.”
