As we head into the weekend, I would love for you to hold one thing close to your heart – let planning your wedding be FUN!

Don’t let the excitement of saying “I do” fade as your planning journey begins. Hold on tight to the joy of those first few days of sharing your happy news.

I spotted a lovely quote on insta from London’s favourite celebrity wedding planner Mark Niemierko

“I like my brides to be spoilt and protected during the planning process, yet through the endless correspondence and planning meetings it needs to be fun… so much fun”

I was chatting to lovely Emma from Emma Jane Events back in January(!), and explaining what I do as a wedding blogger. I was smiling my little head off when I said the thing I love most is having an inbox full of gorgeous photos every day – and today’s welcome for Ellie Gillard is the perfect example of how all those amazing wedding pics make me grin! I may have just spent the best part of an hour gazing at Ellie’s blog (her photos are just incredible). LOVE my job!

Joyful, colourful wedding photography, for couples who don’t want to pose.

Hey, I’m Ellie – creator of joyful, colourful, natural documentary photos of your wedding day.

I live for weddings that are taking a different approach – whether that be in grand gestures, or simply by choosing to ditch the traditions that don’t suit you in favour of creating a meaningful celebration.

My emphasis on your wedding day is about the two of you having fun, not on posing for endless photos, though I do like to create some low-key magic with just the two of you, ideally at sunset. I also make wedding films – I just love experimenting with moving image.

I can step out of my front door and see the fells of the Lake District. It’s the most incredible place to get hitched, and as destinations for weddings go, it’s absolutely top of my list! Gorgeous couple Krystan and Abi tied the knot at the stunning Cragwood Country House, and had an intimate wedding with their closest family. Seeing this amazing celebration land in our inbox last week was basically a dream come true! Huge thanks to the beautiful couple for sharing their day with us, and to Jaye Peg Photography for the images.

It may be that you’ve never been on safari (hopefully, your wedding theme is symbolic of things to come!) or that a trip to Africa was an absolute dream travel experience.

Either way, we’ve got plenty of creative ideas to help you turn your wedding into an African wilderness wonderland.
