A brilliant guest blog by Essex wedding photographer Ross Willsher Photography

Are you drowning in wedding overwhelm? In a spin from social media inspiration? Overloaded with wedding terminology? Fear not! Help is at hand. In this article we’re going to look at some wedding photography jargon and break down what photographers actually mean when they use certain words and phrases.

So, take a deep breath, get comfy and for the next 10 minutes, take some time to untangle that busy mind.

A glorious sunny wedding with a background of real cherry blossom for gorgeous couple Suzy & Jordan! We don’t get nearly enough weddings from the Isle of Wight so it’s a treat to share such a special day on the blog. Beautiful images by SJ Jones Photography, and a wonderful write up with lots of lovely supplier recommendations from Suzy!

Sometimes a wedding is so full of joy it just makes me grin. I’m beaming at my screen today as I share Emily & Jon’s wedding all the way from sunny Cornwall. This gorgeous pair chose a stunning venue overlooking the sea. Even their ceremony room had incredible ocean views. Images are by lovely Hannah Timm Photography, who gets a lovely review from the happy couple. As always, lots more on our insta @englishweddingblog!

There are so many reasons I love this photoshoot – I hope you will adore it as much as I do! The Lake District feels like home to me. I can step outside my house and see the fells from where I live. I spend my weekends high in the mountains whenever I can. It’s the most beautiful place in the world.

A short intro from me today because in the case of Juliane & Luke’s wedding, the images say everything. This is a gorgeous day with a stunning bride and handsome groom, surrounded by art and all the people who love them. The venue is Turner Contemporary. The photographers are London wedding photographers York Place Studios. And unusually perhaps, we’re not sharing photos of flowers and place settings, wedding decor and dreamy styling touches. We’re sharing the realness of a wedding day.
