Polhawn Fort wedding in Cornwall with Martin Dabek Photography on the English Wedding Blog (34)

The Cornish coastline is a beautiful location to be married, and beautiful bride Nazia and husband Martin made the most of it with a perfectly planned, stunning celebration in sunset colours. Their portraits by Polhawn Fort wedding photographer Martin Dabek are wonderful; the story of the day just flows through the pictures and I know you’ll love the rather spectacular ending to today’s blog post!

I actually designed my own wedding dress, I wanted to have a beautiful white wedding dress but also wanted to have a bit of my heritage incorporated into it, so I did this through the embroidery. I used the same Asian dress makers who made my sister’s and my sister in law’s wedding dresses, so I already knew they would do a great job. (Chiffons, 121 Green Street, London.) They did an amazing job in making what I had drawn on paper into reality, each time I went for a fitting and saw more and more of the dress come to life I fell in love with it even more. It was perfect, so unique and exactly what I had imagined.

These two are more than a little bit gorgeous, don’t you think? Chloe looks amaaaazing – and Marc’s black bowtie is a perfectly elegant look for a classic summer wedding. The venue is Kingston Estate – a magnificent Georgian mansion set in the heart of south Devon. Images are by lovely Sam Box Photography.

We tried to keep everything as classic as possible, white flowers with lots of greenery, black tie for the boys and a pale grey sequinned for the bridesmaids. I am slightly obsessed with everything Michelle Keegan .. so her wedding was massive inspiration for me!! I loved the glamour that they had but still kept it minialistic and classy! I mostly used the internet to look for different things for the wedding, usually after I had trawled Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration!

I love the atmosphere of this wedding – the love and especially the laughter and enjoyment comes across so strongly in Rianna and Will’s images – it’s all just gorgeous and totally captivating. This wedding was sent in by James Richard Photography – we think he’s amazing!

This is a wedding with more of a personal touch than so many – yes, Rianna & Will made individual potted succulent wedding favours for their 100 guests, but as lovely as that is, there’s more. The wedding dress was made and designed by Rianna and her mum. It’s wonderfully pretty, a perfect fit – and the loveliest and most meaningful thing I think I’ve ever seen since the English Wedding Blog was born.

The venue is Houchins Farm, flowers are by Lauren Wilson, and Rianna’s hair and make up (she looks stunning!) are by Knot Your Average Bride.

Elegance, glamour and the most romantic looking wedding… this is all just so wonderful, and I LOVE everything about gorgeous Lucy and Adam’s Elmore Court wedding – I only wish I’d been there to see the first dance! (Cracking song choice, guys!) Here’s an inspiring, emotional and stunning wedding to brighten your Wednesday, everyone… You’re welcome!

Our wedding venue is so beautiful it didn’t need much decoration, but we did use Lauradana from Wedding Creations to help style and she did an amazing job!

Our style evolved as I did more and more research and spent hours on pinterest. I wanted something uber romantic, but personal at the same time. I was insistent that we had lots of candles in mercury jars which created the perfect romantic ambiance. The venue was so beautiful that we wanted it to speak for itself so I went for quite a neutral colour scheme, lots of creams and blush with a little bit of sparkle on the bridesmaids dresses. I love champagne, so we had the tables named after different types of champagne and we supplied a lot during the day!

Handcrafted styling touches and dried flowers bring an already characterful old barn to life in this fabulously creative Essex wedding. I adore Hayley’s vintage style tea dress with pretty lace… she looks stunning! Check out the bouquets… handmade paper roses made of newspaper with delicate babies breath all around – they’re so different and pretty!

I enjoy crafts and sewing as a hobby already and as we had a 2 year engagement, I was able to make a lot of things myself. I’m a big Harry Potter nerd and my husband loves Terry Pratchett books so I incorporated book pages into a lot of things; the seating plan, bunting, confetti to sprinkle on the tables and I made paper roses and turned them into my bouquets and boutonnieres.

The barn already had some lovely original beams and other features, so even without any decoration it was gorgeous. We booked the venue as a blank canvas and decided to do the styling and decorations ourselves, it didn’t need too much though, it was pretty much just as much as we wanted to do.

When I first started out as a wedding calligrapher I illustrated Hampden House by hand for a bride and groom’s wedding table plan! When I saw it in Omair and Sarah’s wedding pictures today I knew it instantly: a glorious venue, unique and instantly recognisable… and perfect for this loveliest of couples! I love everything about their day (I’d love to see pics from their Asian wedding on the Sunday too, but today we’re focusing on the traditional English celebration) – the elegant styling, vibrant florals and oodles of romance from beginning to end. It’s all just so magical! We have different religions, backgrounds, heritages and we wanted to represent all of that. But most importantly represent our relationship so celebrating bringing all these elements together which we decided to do over a weekend rather than in one day. We had two main events so most things were duplicated; two venues, two sets of outfits, two cakes, two caterers. But we didn’t want to simply repeat one day so we had different traditions incorporated over the weekend so there was always something new.

I love this wedding! The flowers are gorgeous, Laura is simply stunning – I love Andy’s bright blue suit as well – wow! Today’s gorgeous couple were married in June in Herefordshire. Their wedding was a classic English wedding day in the countryside, with lots of pretty touches. Images are by English Wedding Directory member Cassandra Lane Photography, who gets a glowing review from the happy couple!

We got married at Lemore Manor in Hertfordshire (http://www.lemoremanor.com/) – an amazing country house with an amazing staff. Margaret and her team made the day effortless for us – we commented several times that we were so pleased to have chosen Lemore for our venue. Not only was it beautiful, but we could relax and enjoy every moment without stopping to think about the running of the day – Margaret and team had it covered! Special shout out too for Micky, the chef. The food was amazing, we had so many comments on how lovely everything was. The venue and food are such a large part of the day, so we were so pleased with picking Lemore.

Sarah and Ben’s wedding was at the gorgeous Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire. The couple are actually my neighbours, so no pressure there then! Both families were staying at King John’s House near to Larmer Tree Gardens and this is where both bride and groom got ready in the morning. It was an outdoor ceremony followed by some garden games and speeches outdoors too, before the wedding breakfast. All the 1000 paper cranes were made by Sarah!

Summer bank holidays are the BEST!! Whatever your plans for the day, enjoy. Relax, have summer drinks in the garden, smile and laugh and be happy. That’s my plan too! And allow me to bring a happy smile to your beautiful face with this gorgeous summer marquee wedding in Cheshire.

Sarah and Simon’s day is truly personal, informal and fun. Their focus was on friends and family, on celebrating and having the most amazing day ever – and they nailed it! The joy on everyone’s faces is just making me smile so much today! The styling touches are lovely, with a definite summer garden botanical feel to everything. I adore the herbs on place settings, the little tags, home made alcoholic favour bottles, terracotta pots on tables and the bold colour palette of blues and purples.

Outdoor wedding in Worcestershire, Bodenham Arboretum - Clive Blair Photography on the English Wedding Blog (24)

Happy Sunday lovelies! Does anyone have sunshine this morning? It’s peeking through the clouds as I write… there’s nothing lovelier than driving back to the Lakes and seeing the sun on the mountains 🙂 Oh! Apart from Kayleigh and Dan’s wedding on the blog today of course! They were so lucky with the weather for their outdoor wedding in beautiful woodlands at Bodenham Arboretum. Their humanist ceremony was touching, beautiful and intimate: they invited friends and family who they see often and will see after the wedding, rather than feeling pressured to invite people they don’t know well – and for me this always makes a wedding much more relaxed and happy.

Images were captured by lovely Birmingham wedding photographer Clive Blair Photography, and have been featured already in West Midland Your Wedding Magazine – but I couldn’t resist sharing them with you again – this truly is a beautiful celebration with lovely touches and Kayleigh has kindly shared their wedding planning story with us all (below the images). Don’t miss it!

We’re all about the elegant styling and simple venue and table decor today on the English Wedding Blog! This is a beautiful wedding – I love Lisa’s dress, the flowers… and that summery sunshine at the end of the day is simply perfect! Lisa and George chose Rudding Park as their wedding venue, and Alfred and Co Photography to capture their day. Flowers are simple white roses with gorgeous foliage from Flowers by Colette in Harrogate.

We were recommended Kirsty by a friend, who used her the year before. After looking through their pictures, our mind was made up that we would like Kirsty to shoot our wedding.

Alfred & Co Photography at Rudding Park (2)

We were very pleased with Kirsty from the very first point of contact with her. Not only is she a fantastic photographer, she also is very easy to deal with, and is very helpful with any questions or issues we had. When we saw our wedding photos for the first time we were thrilled, neither of us really like having our photo taken, but we both loved them. She captured so many natural moments, and that’s what made us delighted to have chosen her.

Nearly everything for the wedding was handmade! Tan loved designing and making the elements for the special day. “We had arranged for a Big Routemaster Bus to collect our guests and take them to the venue, so Tan made a hand painted sign as a bus stop in our village, with a pic of the Bride and Groom, and tied balloons to it. The order of Service was handmade, including hand painted pictures of all the Wedding Party – including one of the Groom getting ready with his Saints Rugby top on under his suit.
