It’s really important to us at English Wedding that we feature REAL couples, REAL celebrations and achievable, real-life wedding inspiration. We like to balance all the out-there ideas and alternative, opulent inspiration with a reassurance that EVERY wedding is beautiful. Sophie and George chose a very traditional day with classic styling touches, and celebrated with a reception at Batemans Brewery. They chose Lincolnshire wedding photographer Carl at 166 Photography to capture their day, and it’s all kinds of wonderful.

Wedding photographer review

Carl and Lisa were absolutely brilliant. We are so pleased with all of our photos. I can’t recommend them enough.

Destination weddings are exciting, beautiful, warm – imagine that?! and for adventurous souls. But did you know you can still have your favourite suppliers? We share 5 surprising facts about weddings overseas, inspired by English Wedding member and luxury destination wedding planner Elegante by Michelle J.

Destination weddings work with any wedding budget

Couples often expect a destination wedding to be cheaper than a UK wedding. You can choose to save – or spend! – wherever you get married though! As a newly engaged couple, one of the earliest things you book is likely to be a wedding photographer. You’re about to discover a whole world of different styles and ‘approaches’ to wedding photography – so I’d like to introduce you to one of my favourites.

It’s February 2023 now, and most wedding photographers are taking bookings for 2024 and 2025 already. Couples are still having weddings that were originally cancelled in the pandemic, and demand for suppliers is super high! But this doesn’t mean you should rush into booking a photographer. Always choose carefully, explore your options and enjoy learning what you love when it comes to wedding images!

Let’s make Friday amazing with a beautiful editorial feature from lovely Mel at Your Story Events. I’ve been so excited to share this with you – it’s dreamy and beautiful, with French vibes and the most adorable couple!

With Valentine’s and Christmas just behind us, I feel it’s a nice opportunity to explain styled shoots and why we feature them. This isn’t a real wedding, it’s a creative project from a (super talented!) group of wedding suppliers who’ve taken time out to inspire you. I LOVE styled shoots because they show folks like you and me the very BEST ideas for wedding styling – and this is the loveliest example!

When it comes to speeches on a wedding day, most of them are traditionally from the male perspective. The standard format for wedding speeches is: the father of the bride, followed by the groom’s speech and ending with the ritual humiliation that is the best man’s speech. Women’s voices rarely feature.
