Wedding photographer review

Fox & Bear were the perfect fit for us. Our photographs from our wedding day are so special, they perfectly capture the feeling of our day. Dewi made us feel very comfortable, he felt like one of the guests which meant he got some fantastic candid shots of our friends and family.

Your best wedding moment or memory

We have two favourite moments from our day. The first was before the wedding breakfast, we had 15 minutes together watching the Rugby (England vs. Wales in the Six Nations), eating our incredible canapes, drinking prosecco and taking a moment to celebrate just the two of us, it was a really special moment. Our second favourite moment was during the wedding breakfast after the speeches. We sat back for a moment and watched our friends and family talking, laughing and enjoying the beautiful food we’d chosen. It was such a humbling moment, seeing everyone together, celebrating our love.

Tell us anything you did differently – we love hearing about NEW traditions (or none at all!)

Non-matching bridesmaid dresses – Let your besties be themselves and choose their own dresses. A different dress for the evening, and trainers! The evening should be all about the dancing! The day before the wedding, all of the bridal party travelled to the wedding venue together, we spent the day setting up our DIY decorations, eating, drinking and getting excited for the wedding. It was so lovely to spend the day evening getting excited with our nearest and dearest.

Videographer name + review

Mike Roberts Films – Mike was fantastic throughout our day, he created the most beautiful films for us. We have two films from our day, a short one and a longer one. It’s lovely to look back on our day, and share it with friends and family who couldn’t attend.

Venue name + review

Talhenbont Hall – What a beautiful and unique venue. So much care has been put into the renovation of the coach house and the upkeep of the main house on the property. The grounds are beautiful and sprawling, offering so many photo opportunities. The staff at the venue were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Alicia ensured the day ran smoothly and that everything was as we wanted it to be.

Tell us a little about your outfits – both of you!

Shelby wore a Rachel Rose Bridal mermaid style dress with a peach underskirt and heavily detailed bodice with a gold/nude shimmer. Thin straps, a low back and long train made this Shelby’s dream dress.

Shelby finished off the look with blue heels and gold and pearl necklace and earrings. Shelby’s reception dress was a white sequinned tea length A line dress, worn with white hand stitched wildflower Superga trainers.

Stu wore a Groom wool suit in brown, with a peach tie. Stu finished off the look with a pocket watch, chain and brown brogues.

Florist name + review

Ivy, Pip and Rose – The most incredible florist ever! Rebecca listened to our ideas and sent us over mood boards of what she could do for us. She completely understood our vision and created the most beautiful bouquets, buttonholes, floor display and bud vase displays. We couldn’t have imagined anything more perfect.

Cake maker name + review

Emmazing bakes – Our cake was more beautiful than we ever imagined. It was just what we’d asked for, and it tasted amazing. We were sent lots of samples to choose from before the day, the hardest part was choosing only three! Our cake topper was made by Page’s personalised cake toppers, a company we found on Facebook. The topper is made of clay and we have it pride of place on our kitchen. We sent pictures of Shelby’s wedding dress, flowers, shoes and Stu’s work uniform (firefighter) to the company for them to create the topper, all of the details were perfect. We also asked for Stu to be carrying Shelby in a fireman’s lift for a bit of fun. All of our guests commented on it, and we still get comments on it when people see it in our house today.

Any crafty projects or homemade styling touches?

We did all of the decoration and stationery for the day ourselves. The table centre pieces, table plan, doughnut wall, cake stand, sweet and dessert station, signage and invitations were all done by us. It was hard work, but it was lovely to do it together, and made us feel very proud seeing it all come together. Pinterest, Facebook marketplace and Greetings Island played a bit part in creating our vision and making it possible.

Wedding readings?

Marriage is Madness

First dance song? Playlist recommendations?

High – Lighthouse Family We chose music that means something to us to be played at different points throughout our day, we started putting our playlists together about a year before our wedding and added to it until the day before the wedding.

Hair + makeup name + review

Anna Baxter Makeup Artistry – Anna is a friend of my sister and the only person I would trust to put makeup on my troublesome skin. She did a trial with me, my bridesmaids and my mum about six weeks before the wedding for my hen do. She listened to what I wanted, and executed it perfectly, I felt so confident all day. Anna is a master, and I felt very lucky to have her do my makeup for this most special day.

Couture Hair by Becky – Becky has been my family’s hairdresser since I was a child, so I knew she would be the only person for the job of my wedding hair. Becky is patient, methodical, and fantastic at what she does. She was able to create exactly what I, my bridesmaids and my mum had asked for on the day of the wedding, and also did a trial on my hen do day, so we all got to feel fabulous twice!

Entertainment

Wedding band – Fletch – Fantastic band who also DJd for us after they’d played. They went above and beyond to ensure they were able to play after a technical hitch, we couldn’t have been more grateful to them. Photo booth hire – The Event Lounge – This was so good, and so much fun, all of our guests loved it, and we got all of the pictures emailed to us and also stuck into our guest book, well worth the extra money.

Catering

Cheeky chilli catering – The food was to die for! We asked for an Italian themed menu, and that’s exactly what we got. We had charcuterie boards to start, Italian style lamb loin with spring vegetables for main, and a chocolate torte for desert. Canapes included bruschetta, arancini, Italian chicken skewers and Italian meatballs. We also had a fantastic array of evening food including beef sliders, pizza and fish and chips cones.
