Blogging for your wedding business – a week of ideas, tips and advice

Hello there! I hope you’re having a lovely autumn and – if you’re a wedding business – I hope you’re beginning to look forward to the quieter months. I know how crazy the end of the summer can be!
It’s a great time of year to look at advertising and marketing, so this week I’ll be sharing tips for blogging your wedding business.

Through the week we’ll look at why blogging is important, and how to stay motivated. We’ll touch on the tech stuff like keywords and SEO, and where you should blog. And I’ll also give you some blogging tips for content – what should you really write about? On Friday we’ll finish off the week with the secrets of successful wedding business blogging!
Why you should write a blog for your wedding business
Blogging is all about getting your business found online. Blog well, and the right couples who are looking for a business just like yours will find you, like you and book you!
Couples won’t find you if your website doesn’t rank well in search engines. The holy grail is getting to the top of Google for your keywords – we’ll go into those in more detail on Wednesday.
So you should blog – and discover how to do it brilliantly!
Blogging your wedding business will:
- help your ideal clients find you on Google
- keep couples interested and coming back for more
- save you money on paid advertising
- bring you bookings
- help your wedding business be successful (ie profitable!)
I’ve been writing English Wedding for 14 years. I’ve worked with hundreds of wedding suppliers and written thousands of wedding blog posts. This blog has consistently been a top 10 UK wedding blog since 2009. I’ve struggled, and had good times and bad with blogging. It’s not easy sometimes – but English Wedding has survived a pandemic and two recessions. Personally, while writing this blog I’ve survived an abusive relationship and separation and finally found my life partner – somehow without skipping a beat in my wedding blogging!

I love blogging. I adore writing and helping other wedding businesses. From the very beginning I wanted to build a blog which would support people like you, and I’m super proud that I’ve made that happen.
How have I done it? Through blogging, consistently and well!
Wedding business blog pain points
I realise it’s hard to start and then sustain a wedding blog for your business. It’s time consuming and the longer you leave it, the harder it gets.
But it’s like going out for a run in the morning – the toughest part is climbing out of bed, popping your trainers on and opening the front door. Once you start, it’s more fun than you thought it would be!
We’ll talk about motivation tomorrow, and help you get your blogging trainers on!
