Natasha & Greg’s little London wedding with a BIG heart
Believe it or not, 2020 didn’t invent micro weddings. We’ve actually been in love with these wonderful, smaller weddings for a few years already! I worry a little that the name “micro wedding” will become synonymous with the word “pandemic”. I’d love to come up with a word for these incredibly joyful, intimate weddings that captures their magic, because they’re bursting so full of heart and soul they deserve to be celebrated and dreamed of as much as any big ‘dream wedding’ ever is.
Greg and Natasha married in 2020, making their London wedding a rare and really special day. Changes to their original plans meant a new date, new numbers… and a fortnight to get everything done. And they did. And it’s all incredibly beautiful.
Ceremony location: St Etheldreda’s Church
Do please stop for a moment to scroll through this blog post and give it your full attention. As well as the authenticity captured in their images, there are stories to be read in the photographs. In 2035 there’ll be teenagers looking at these pics and remembering favourite little tiny tricycles, wondering why baby headstands held so much appeal. Because the best wedding photographs tell a story: this is documentary wedding photography with charm, and heart, and empathy. And honestly, there’s nothing we love more.

Whatever the size and scale weddings are, at their heart, about love and friendship, yet in the fast-flowing flood of excitement, ideas, inspiration and occasional admin and, let’s face it, politics that hit the second you announce your engagement, it’s sometimes all too easy to forget that. But with micro weddings as small in numbers yet huge in love, warmth, friendship and personality as Natasha & Greg’s, it’s perhaps just the reminder we need. ~ Dominique, York Place Studios
York Place Studios are incredible photographers and truly lovely people. We ended up having our wedding in the midst of COVID and decided to go ahead with two weeks’ notice. Despite our original guest list of 150, we ended up as only a party of 16 due to all the restrictions but Dom wasn’t fazed in the slightest and slotted in effortlessly, putting everyone at ease. We have literally dozens upon dozens of mind blowing photos that you would want to frame. If you’re debating whether or not to go with York Place then don’t – it’ll be the best wedding planning decision you will make! – Natasha & Greg
