Luxe style inspiration for a small wedding, from Barnston Lodge
Today my lovelies I wanted to share this glorious styled wedding photoshoot with you all. It’s perfectly curated and has an air of playfulness and joy to the images – something I’d love to see more of in styled wedding editorials (where giggles are all too rare!) These lovely images were sent in by Poppy at Your Best Day Ever. The photographer is Kate Boston, and you’ll find a full supplier list just below.

Our Luxe shoot is for the minimalistic couples who are all about clean lines and simplicity for their big day. My inspiration for this shoot came from the venue, Barnston Lodge, with its beautiful grey façade and greenery within the grounds. However, I also wanted to incorporate fun and laughter into the shoot.
I believe that whether you are organising a shoot or a wedding yes, you want it to look absolutely stunning, but you want to enjoy yourself, laugh and smile throughout! Due to the current situation, simplicity is key for ceremonies and receptions, and this shoot shows that you can still have the most elegant of celebrations with just a small number of people without having to compromise on style.
The day, would not have been complete without the help from my amazing suppliers. Some I had worked with before, whilst other were brand new to me, however all saw my vision and we worked together to ensure that the day was a success and the theme was clearly demonstrated, for example the use of white roses and greenery by C Taylor’s Floristry, that we then added to the cake to keep the elegance flowing through the whole shoot.
My biggest styling tip would be to build up from the bottom. I always start with the key elements e.g. flowers, tables etc. and then add the finer touches for example, tableware. However it is often these small details that finish off a shoot perfectly.
The main focus for this shoot was elegance, simplicity and fun – a perfect combination and when planning your own wedding it is key to enjoy the process and to not stress the small stuff. Everything will eventually come together and you want to make sure you enjoy every element of your wedding, including the planning!
My favourite image from the day is the couple photo in front of the vintage English white 1966 Aston Martin DB6, with Ellie’s veil flowing in the wind and I think this demonstrates the impeccable style that couples want to achieve for their big day. However the garden games and group photos also show that no matter how classy and elegant a day is, you can still incorporate some fun!
