How did you choose your photographer?
I was actually looking at all the wedding pictures on my wedding venue (beeston manor’s) Instagram page and there were a certain few that kept catching my eye and Phil was the photographer in them all. So I then searched all his work.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
My wedding pictures were so good I was really happy with them all. The quality was amazing and there so special to me.
Videographer details if applicable – and any thoughts for other couples about having a wedding video?
My sister in law does photography at university so we just asked her to video the day for us to save money, but if you can afford one I would definitely recommend to do so. You get to really re-live your day and see how all the guests were on the day.
Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?
I have to say I am so In love with my venue, I was searching for venues near to where I lived and that was the only one I had a really good feeling about. When me and my now husband went to view it I literally cried… I knew it was the one. It is elegant and rustic, the grounds are beautiful and the staff are so lovely. It was beyond perfect.
Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?
I absolutely loved wearing my dress it was everything I wanted. It was elegant and fitted and didn’t have too much going on.
I actually had 13 people come to help me pick a dress which consisted of my mums and mother in law and all my bridesmaids and flower girls. It went really well actually I only tried like 15 dresses on!!! Lol
I think the suit shopping went a lot more straight forward with less of an audience, just very last minute (typical Dan).
Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness
A friend of mine recommended a lady local to me and she was amazing, (it’s nice to support small businesses too.) I had gypsophila for my bridesmaids because it’s my favourite flower and I had the same with white and pink roses. They looked so nice and really matched everything else.
Did you hire a wedding planner?
My now husband is in the Raf and we decided to plan a wedding in 5 months so we could live together sooner. At the time he was away a lot and I was teaching in a college, I didn’t have a wedding planner but thank god for my mum, family and friends who supported me and helped me along the way.
As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?
My very special neighbours treated me to my cake and it was so nice. It was a rustic look with a rose on top and it suited our special Day so well. The cake was from GG Bakes in Bolton, very tasty.
Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves
My mother in law is from a wedding background and so she helped me decorate a lot of the venue and my mum also gave me lots of ideas and helped massively. We made our own floating candles, I printed off lots of pictures of me, my husband and our boy Corey which looked lovely and personal. I had a friend decorate the venue with an amazing flower board and big beautiful tree’s either side of the isle. Everything came together so lovely. My mother in law made my favours, name tags and invitations too.
Did you personalise your vows or have any wedding readings? What were they?
I surprised my husband and said a personal vow to my step-son. I’m really glad I had the confidence to do it because it went down really well and I made everyone cry, even my husband teared up which i had never seen before.
What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?
I love Ed Sheeran so it had to be “Perfect” by Ed. I just love the words.
