Shayan & Amo’s elegant Elmore Court wedding and vibrant Indian reception, with Dan Morris Photography
When I spotted this wedding in our calendar for today I wanted to cartwheel down the street. It makes me SO happy! I absolutely love the joy and colour in today’s wedding – and beautiful Amo and Shayan are the absolute best! These two lovelies tied the knot at Elmore Court last summer, and chose the venue for its flexibility: to have a classic English wedding with big white dress and black tie, with a formal day reception… then transform the whole event into a vibrant and colourful Indian wedding reception complete with drummers and a fabulous party atmosphere. And boy, did they nail it or what?! Images are by Cotswolds Wedding Photographer Dan Morris, and I’ll leave you with lovely Amo and Shayan to tell you about their day!

How did you choose your photographer?
We looked at photographers in or around the Cotswolds who captured photographs we really liked – we then shortlisted them and chose our favourite! Dan had such an impressive portfolio and we really felt that his photos told a story. The colours within his photos really drew us to them and we knew he’d be the perfect man to document the day. After we’d decided on his photos, we wanted to make sure we got on with him – one of the early pieces of advice we were given was ‘don’t have anyone around you who you don’t like’ which seems obvious!!! So we set up a quick chat over Skype and knew instantly that Dan was the man!
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
We absolutely loved Dan! He blended in so much into the day that he could’ve been a guest, he captured beautiful moments and did not stop the day from running at all. We haven’t been able to choose our wedding album yet as we want each and every one of the photos in it! He is such a nice guy to have around which is also a bonus!
Videographer details if applicable – and any thoughts for other couples about having a wedding video?
Our videographers were blue ridge films who were recommended by Dan. These guys were also great! We definitely recommend having a video as well as there are parts of the day you’ll miss which the videographers won’t! We loved our ‘insta-film’ and constantly watch this back.
Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?
We chose Elmore Court. We were really fixed on finding the right venue – we wanted an elegant morning surrounded by countryside where we could be in a dinner suits and a big white dress – but then somewhere that let us transform into an Indian style reception with drummers and bright colours. Elmore court was perfect for this.
Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?
Amo got her white dress from Pronovias in Mayfair, she found it quite difficult to find the right dress but searched across the country with her bridesmaids in tow to find the right one!
We travelled to India to design Amo’s Indian dress and Shayan’s dinner suit. She knew the colours and designs she wanted so she worked with a shop in Mumbai with Shayan’s mum to design a dress and then her mum, Pinki, sewed it together – it ended up being just as spectacular as we thought it would be!
Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness
We had Nandi Flora to help with our flowers – Amo was really particular about the bouquet and Kam really delivered!
Did you hire a wedding planner?
No but some of the bridesmaids deserved that title!
As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?
Our cake was three tiers and each layer was one of our favourite – we had lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge and red velvet – an old work colleague of Amo’s is a brilliant baker and we hired her to do this – our only regret is it finished so quickly!!
Did you personalise your vows or have any wedding readings? What were they?
Shayan’s parents did a touching reading and one of the groomsmen did another. Both Dan and Blue Ridge captured this wonderfully
What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?
You’re Still The One – Shania Twain. We felt it was a good expression of our relationship!
