Published by Claire Gould on

For all of you lovely brides and grooms out there, I want to keep blog life as normal as possible right now: a beautiful anchor in this crazy storm we’re living this spring. (For wedding suppliers – watch this space as I’m working hard on something of a rescue package today – details to be announced soon.)

So we begin the week with Hayden & Rabia’s stunning summer wedding from Kilminorth Cottages in Looe. These two are everything: properly gorgeous, and their wedding is the most joyful celebration – as uplifting as can be! The florals are breathtaking; the styling of their day simply perfect. I hope you love today’s feature as much as I do.

With love,

Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?

Love, friendship, rustic, intimate, eclectic, floral, natural, sunny, lucky, tasty

Your wedding style or theme:

Outdoorsy, natural. Rustic!

Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)

Mostly through kilo north cottages (Jayne) or Instagram!

What’s your top tip for saving money?

Overtime! Joint account to keep an eye and compete against each other putting away! Netflix nights in! HOME COOKING!

… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?

Food, marque, photography and videography! Maybe the SHOES ;).

Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?

We put together our own bridal boxes and mother of the bride boxes otherwise we just ordered a card for the invite off a website with minimal information on! Bunting and chair covers were made by one of our lovely bridesmaids!

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

100% I was so in love! I’m just really short so I was scared that once it was tailored it wouldn’t suit me anymore!

Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:

I got the dress from a shop called along cake eve which is A family shop ran by a mother and daughter! The designer was enzoani.

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!

I wore diamond earrings my husband bought me with his first pay check when he went into his first job on his career path. He said they were a promise of things to come.
My veil was from the same shop as my dress.
Hair pieces were from a florist called floral dreams. Each one was made a bit different.
My shoes were also a wedding gift off my husband, Jimmy Choo! This I dreamt of!
Hayden wore a boss watch with personalised cuff links to tell him what time to meet me at the altar as he is always late!
Hayden and his groomsmen and father of the bride wore personalised tie clips.

And what did the groom wear?

Hayden wore a suit also from a shop in Chester called groom!

Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?

All the bridesmaids wore a dress from Debenhams!

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?

Hair and make up was done by hands and tans liskeard and red hairdressing liskeard. Honestly they made the morning! It was so relaxed and considering I had no trials I couldn’t have asked for better!

Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)

Floral dreams was the florist and she did the nicest arrangements that I couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams!
I just asked for peonies and a light pink colour theme.
She explained she used a flower called blushing bride which was supposed to be good luck! This was very special!

General styling – did your venue need much decoration?

We did everything in regards to decoration! Hung photos, bunting and tables were dressed with foliage! The aisle was decorated by my brother, Wayne and the florist! The pallet was sanded down by myself and Hayden and painted while Hayden’s mum Jan wrote the itinerary of the day on it!

Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?

Mostly my bridesmaid Rachel put her sewing machine to the test with bunting and chair decorations!

The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?

We had a Madeira Victoria sponge type cake! half dressed cake with a wooden cake topper by Nelly Konra’di! It was a hit! It was so nice!

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

We are send John Green! He was so accommodating he was the DJ he also did lighting, microphones and music for the aisle!

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

Make the most of the day! It’s all about the two of you! No stress! Haha – easy to say! Your own vows and such a special touch!
Hayden says eat breakfast!!!

What’s the best thing about being married?

Being a team!
