The blog is bursting with fabulous real weddings to inspire your own day – probably, if you search the blog, from the very same venue where you’ll be having your wedding! So we wanted to take that local focus a little further today, and with help from Buckinghamshire wedding photographer Damion Mower, we’ve rounded up 8 fabulous REAL home counties weddings from some of the best wedding venues in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey to share with you!

Whether you’re looking for a beautiful barn wedding in Berkshire or a fabulous Hertfordshire stately home, a quirky venue with classic touches or an outdoor ceremony – wedding venues in the home counties have it ALL. Some are on country estates away from the hustle and bustle, while others are closer to major towns and cities – and each has a character all of its own.

We’ve focused on real couples, to share how they styled and used seven favourite Berks, Bucks, Surrey and Herts wedding venues for their ceremonies and receptions. Have a look at each one – see how other brides and grooms styled and celebrated! Their weddings are just wonderfully different and sure to inspire you no matter where you’re getting wed!

Sam and Laura married at Hedsor House – a stunning Georgian house available on an exclusive use basis. Hedsor is a fabulous Buckinghamshire venue, perfect for modern weddings and with maximum flexibility to style your day your way – or choose from one of the venue’s wedding packages. 2. Lillibrooke Manor for Liz & Andy’s vibrant, colourful, hot-air balloon themed barn wedding

Lillibrooke Manor has the most characterful barn, with beams upon beams upon beams and a fabulous high ceiling just perfect for fairy lights. I love this wedding, where the bride and groom filled the upwards space with hot air balloon style lanterns, and used colour throughout their entire wedding to bring the styling bang up to date and add tons of personality to their day. For this Berkshire wedding Damion Mower captured the vibrant colours and Liz & Andy’s personalities brilliantly – I love it! So much fun!

Lillibrooke Manor: a lovingly restored, historic Berkshire wedding venue

Lillibrooke Manor is a restored Grade II listed wedding venue in the Thames Valley. It’s an exclusive use venue with stunning gardens and grounds, and ceremony spaces including the Great Barn, Engine House or Small Barn. You can even say your vows in the Cloister Garden on a beautiful summer’s day.

3. Fanhams Hall – the most beautiful countryside wedding venue

I don’t doubt the inside of the house is magnificent, but Steve and Jodie’s Fanhams Hall wedding blows me away with the SPECTACULAR portraits taken around the gardens. Those trees – it’s blissfully beautiful and I can imagine the birds singing and wildlife scampering between the branches all day long. The lovely couple chose a classic style for their wedding day, which fits perfectly with the grand nature of this 18th century mansion. As a member of the South East Selective group of wedding photographers, Damion Mower is perfectly placed to capture weddings at this stunning venue.

Fanhams Hall – a magnificent mix of modern and traditional in the Hertfordshire countryside

Fanhams Hall is a Hertfordshire wedding venue known for its outstanding gardens to explore. The Jacobean country house has both traditional and more modern areas to suit your preferred wedding style, making Fanhams Hall a perfect venue for elegant weddings and celebrations. 4. Sanctum on the Green – an elegant outdoor wedding with a brilliant afterparty vibe

Emily and Gus opted for a garden style wedding at Sanctum on the Green, in Cookham Dean. Their day is modern and vibrant and full of fun and laughter – I love it. They married outside, celebrated with a marquee style wedding breakfast, and partied hard until the early hours inside the hotel. The atmosphere of this Berkshire wedding is fabulous, and beautifully captured by photographer Damion Mower, whose documentary style images suit this fun couple perfectly!

Sanctum on the Green – a modern hotel venue in Berkshire

With modern furnishings and plenty of outdoor space including a pool, this is a hotel venue for modern couples. Sanctum on the Green is nestled in the historic village of Cookham on the River Thames in the north-easternmost corner of Berkshire. It’s worth remembering that for venues on county borders you can easily choose suppliers from a little further afield than your local area – in fact this is pretty much always the case. You don’t necessarily need a Berkshire wedding photographer if you have your hearts set on a particular style (documentary wedding photography, for example) – most will happily travel to capture your day!

5. Great Fosters, Surrey – a stunning Orangery & Conservatory giving beautiful light in elegant surroundings

Louise and Simon’s Great Fosters wedding blends Greek and English traditions to beautiful effect. Their elegant wedding breakfast made use of the Tithe Barn, which is wonderfully atmospheric – and they partied in the Orangery and Conservatory with a sparkly dance floor until the early hours. I love their evening photos – Damion captured the romance of their day with a touch of creative lighting in the sunken rose garden, for the most exquisite evening portrait.

Great Fosters: a stunning Surrey wedding venue

The Orangery at Great Fosters is a bright and airy ceremony room with floor to ceiling windows and doors overlooking the gardens. It’s filled with light and makes for beautiful photographs as the bride walks down the aisle to meet her soon to be husband. There’s 50 acres of stunning gardens and parkland to explore with some truly wonderful spots for beautiful wedding images and idyllic couple portraits around the grounds. And I know – we’ve skipped across from the counties I mentioned in the title of this post… but wouldn’t you, for a look at such a beautiful venue? It’s easy to see why this is another location on our Bucks wedding photographer’s favourites list!

6. Wasing Park – classic and timeless styling for Claire & Kevin’s Berkshire wedding

When you get married at Wasing Park, you can trust the venue to take care of your day – this is a busy Berkshire wedding venue and we love it for its classic photo corners and glorious gardens. Claire and Kevin chose to tie the knot in the late summertime, and used simple touches of delicate pink for a romantic and traditional look.

Wasing Park: a fairytale Berkshire wedding venue

Wasing Park inhabits a vast private estate in the heart of the Berkshire countryside. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle, coming to Wasing Park is like being whisked away into a romantic world of your very own. The sweeping driveway leads to a cluster of historic buildings, giving you real flexibility to style your wedding indoors or outside and just as you choose – with luxury assured! It’s one of those venues which has taken beautiful wedding photography into consideration: who wouldn’t recognise Wasing’s Victorian summerhouse with the pretty murals on the walls?

7. Micklefield – a perfect spring barn wedding in Hertfordshire

Home counties wedding photography by Damion Mower on English-Wedding.com (15)

Sarah and Rob’s Micklefield wedding is already a favourite of mine: we featured their day on the English Wedding Blog back in April. They used fabulous foliage to soften the walls of the Great Barn at Micklefield, with classic roses and delicate pink tulips, oh and a cycling and skiing theme! (The cake is a masterpiece of creativity!)

A beautiful Hertfordshire wedding venue for the shorter months of the year

It’s the candlelight from Rob and Sarah’s Micklefield Hall wedding which sets it apart from the crowd: the warmth and glow from the candles is divine – and it takes an experienced and talented wedding photographer to capture the atmosphere so beautifully. The flickering flames light the hall at Micklefield so beautifully – the listed barn, with its original beams dating back to 1490, is as charming and authentic as a wedding venue can be.

8. Hampden House – timeless, country luxe wedding

Home counties wedding photography by Damion Mower on English-Wedding.com (32)

Joanna and Matt’s day is quintessentially English, elegant and understated. From the roses in Joanna’s bouquet to Matt’s tailcoat, the styling of their Bucks wedding is timeless and classic. Their wedding gallery flows beautifully: with a handful of exquisitely captured portraits of the two of them and a fabulous collection of documentary style images. They made the right choice in hiring Buckinghamshire wedding photographer Damion Mower to capture their day: his approach and reportage style are second to none.

A timeless and sophisticated Buckinghamshire wedding venue

In the heart of the beautiful Chiltern Hills, this Grade I listed Country House Estate is perfectly suited to a sophisticated and traditional wedding. There’s a 13th century church in the grounds, and the Great Hall and Dining Room of the house are licensed for civil ceremonies. Set in over 350 acres of privately owned parkland, there’s room to explore and – if you choose a wedding photographer who knows Hampden House well – some wonderful little corners of the gardens for outstanding wedding portraits of the two of you. Hampden House offers set wedding packages or a bespoke option with corkage, giving you the freedom to style and plan your day as you please!

9. Hedsor House – English country house grandeur for a classic spring wedding

Home counties wedding photography by Damion Mower on English-Wedding.com (27)

I can’t leave this round up of home counties weddings without a quick glimpse back at Hedsor House. Eric and Chloe’s wedding is one of modern elegance – graceful styling and classic luxury. The venue suits it perfectly! Once again, the images were all captured by Buckinghamshire wedding photographer Damion Mower Photography, who really made the most of the venue’s spectacular features (that chandelier!) and quintessentially English atmosphere.

A quintessentially English wedding venue: Hedsor House

Hedsor House is a wedding venue first and foremost: it’s what they do here, and they do it seamlessly. With 5 main rooms to choose from, all of which can be used for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, dining or standing buffets, Hedsor has something for every couple. This award-winning Buckinghamshire wedding venue has long been a party place for the rich and famous – ask Johnny Depp! Far from stuffy and old-fashioned, Hedsor House has a far-reaching reputation for the most fabulous parties and gatherings – your wedding could be one of them!
