Let’s start the week with a reminder of how amazing things used to be…. and a reminder that they WILL get back to normal. We don’t know when, but there WILL be hugs and parties and gatherings of favourite people and love and romance and just pure joy with bunches of happy humans all celebrating together. Hang in there, everyone… In the meantime let’s look back on a super glamorous and FUN wedding with our fabulous friends and London wedding photographers York Place Studios. Gorgeous Ally & Alex’s black tie wedding took place at Hedsor House – and despite the rain this gorgeous pair had a BLAST! I love how the story of their wedding builds in excitement and joy through their wedding photographs: from the nerves and closeness of Ally’s bridal prep through the romantic ceremony, super classy reception and the amazing party vibes at the end of the day. This is a beauty of a wedding!
Gorgeous couple Madeleine and Andrew celebrated their wedding at Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire in November. Theirs was an elegant autumnal English wedding packed full of personal touches, with black tie dress for the boys and our stunning bride in a classic and beautiful Suzanne Neville dress, purchased from Ellie Sanderson in Beaconsfield. The flowers are warm, colourful and perfectly arranged; the photographs of their day just exquisite – they’re by Katherine Yiannaki Photography.

How did you choose your photographer?
We loved Katherines classic yet relaxed style of photography. She was recommended through a family friend
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
Absolutely- Katherine was great to have around on the day, making Andy and I feel really relaxed. It really helped that she included a pre wedding shoot as part of her package so we could get used to the camera and made it run really smoothly on the day. The shots are beautiful and timeless, and we shall treasure them forever
English-Wedding.com is the ONLY UK wedding blog to have a truly regional focus. The blog is bursting with fabulous real weddings to inspire your own day – probably, if you search the blog, from the very same venue where you’ll be having your wedding! So we wanted to take that local focus a little further today, and with help from Buckinghamshire wedding photographer Damion Mower, we’ve rounded up 8 fabulous REAL home counties weddings from some of the best wedding venues in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey to share with you!
Whether you’re looking for a beautiful barn wedding in Berkshire or a fabulous Hertfordshire stately home, a quirky venue with classic touches or an outdoor ceremony – wedding venues in the home counties have it ALL. Some are on country estates away from the hustle and bustle, while others are closer to major towns and cities – and each has a character all of its own.
“But we loved with a love that was more than love—
I and my Annabel Lee—
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
Coveted her and me.”
Edgar Allen Poe’s hauntingly beautiful love poem Annabel Lee inspired today’s breathtaking bridal shoot. I adore the luxury, the timelessness and opulence of everything you’re about to see.
Images are by lovely Amanda Karen Photography who explains, “The dark and romantic nature of this poem was woven through the shoot with deep reds, elegant blacks and opulent golden touches. Hedsor House was a natural choice for the venue with its iconic looming stature and its luxurious interiors.”
Extravagance and luxury styling really works here. The haute couture wedding dresses look regal and sensuous; and I do so love any beautiful wedding dress which isn’t white. Ian Stuart knocks it out of the park, obviously… swooon!!!
The rich colour palette lends itself beautifully to autumn or winter wedding styling – the gold accents and those divine black candles are fabulous.
Today I have the pleasure of featuring a gorgeous styled shoot submitted by bridal couturier Melanie Potro. Melanie’s gowns are divine – combining modern shapes and styling touches with the most exquisite fabrics and wonderful attention to every last detail. Every modern bride should discover and try a Melanie Potro gown… they’re simply fabulous. Images were captured by the award winning Hannah McClune Photography assisted by Alice Hudson.
The shoot took place at Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire and was styled around a colour palette of monochrome and gold with a hint of mint green. Wedding planner Rachael from Serendipity Weddings designed the sequinned table plan and styled a confetti bar for guests as well as styling the entire shoot.
The dress is the beautiful ‘Alana’ gown by Melanie Potro Bridal Couture, modelled by Meg O’Duffy. Meg’s elegant up-do and glamorous makeup were the handiwork of artist Liz Patey and her hair was finished with a playful gold bow from Polly McGeary. Groom Henry Morris looks gorgeous in a tuxedo loaned by Stephen Bishop Suiting.
Hey there everyone! Did anyone else forget it was a Bank Holiday and get up early for work? Oops… but never mind, because I have the loveliest of weddings to share with you today, courtesy of Newlywed Films. Danielle and Steve were married at Hedsor House early this summer, and their wedding is fabulous. They planned their day to run smoothly and selected some of the prettiest details: a stunning dress, a fabulous designer tiered cake with roses and beautifully constructed rose boquets… you’ll adore this.
Their cake is a real stunner: its elegant tiers with pale roses look exquisite. In the church, pew ends are decorated with bunches of baby’s breath: one of the prettiest trends for 2014. Danielle and Steve had banqueting tables for their wedding breakfast, with pretty floral table decorations, in a beautifully tranquil room at Hedsor House which breaks none of my rules about carpets or chair covers! The white hydrangea floral displays for the top table are divine!
