Wedding style inspiration in blush, nude, soft peach and coral – with Michelle Cordner Photography
Good morning, beautiful! Today we’re sharing a key look for 2019 weddings – one that can be recreated easily once you ‘get’ the styling concepts – and one I know will make 2019 a year of weddings to remember. It’s all about understated elegance with careful attention to a few quality details. For me this is a look of almost effortless wedding style – combining simple, minimal details with the smallest touches of real luxury and softness. The florals are absolutely key: delicate and feminine blooms in a soft palette of ivory, nude, blush and soft peach with pops of glorious coral. Texture comes from hare’s tail grasses and striking white anthuriums, while white lilac and butterfly ranunculus bring softness to the look. The colours are what I love most about today’s floral design: those carefully arranged coral blooms really make the arrangements look contemporary and luxurious, don’t you think?
These images were captured by English Wedding member Michelle Cordner Photography. We love Michelle’s style – and it’s worth reiterating the fact that most wedding photographers are very willing to travel to capture weddings. Michelle’s based in Kent, but this shoot took place at Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire.

“For this stunning wedding styled shoot I travelled all the way from my home in North Kent to this beautiful venue, almost as far up north as Newcastle! But the amazing couple, stunning dresses, cakes and flowers made it totally worth it! Such a gorgeous shoot! Even on a drizzly March day!! Below are a few of my favourites from the day!” ~ Michelle Cordner
I know some wedding bloggers won’t publish many styled shoots, but I think they’re fantastic – they demonstrate beautiful and creative styling ideas and how colours and themes really work. They’re also great for wedding creatives to explore new ideas and update their portfolios – this particular shoot was a Wild Ones workshop organised by Nicola Dixon and which has also been featured on Love My Dress.
The square tiered wedding cake by lovely Rachel at Marie Antoinette Cake Design is just perfect: the smooth, straight lines make it a real statement cake, and its beauty comes from its perfectly formed tiers. The pared back styling makes a wonderful backdrop for statement sugar flowers in white, blush and stunning coral. A second cake brings an edgier note to the overall look – evoking crumbling plaster and timeless beauty, and incorporating foliage and succulents into the design.
