Elizabeth and Henry’s back to nature, chicken & egg farm wedding, with Catherine Spiller Photography
Happy Monday lovelies! How cold has it been this weekend though?! Even today I’m in my snuggliest jumper and slipper boots (the joy of working from home!) – but as ever, the beauty of a wedding blog is that we can take you back to warm summer days! And I have a beauty of a farm wedding for you today, with a (genius or what?!) chicken and egg theme. The cake is one of my fave details – and our beautiful bride and groom are here to tell you all about their day.
“We used our agricultural barn and the Mother of the bride and her friends used flowers and foliage from their gardens, fairy lights and our handmade bunting to transform the barn. Guests were seated on hay bales with handmade cushions which I made with my cousin and Great grandmothers quilted throws.
We hand made bunting, cushions, wooden signs, seating plan stand, a post box, confetti, log slices.
I made Mr & Mrs bunting for our top table to co-ordinate with the bunting I had made for our venue. The quilted throws were made by my Great Grandmother. We also decorated the sweet trolley in our handmade bunting.
We had a sweet trolley and to follow the chicken and egg theme we had mini eggs and jelly fried eggs in jars.
As our favours we had egg cups with each guests name hand stamped on a blown egg. We used eggs from our own chickens, we had a lovely mix of colourful eggs.
Home grown sweet peas for the tables. We grew and planted a lot of flowers.
The week leading up to the wedding was enjoyable spending time with good friends and family. We worked as a great team together.

On the day Catherine was amazing. She was so discreet and we hardly knew she was there.
Our wedding photographs are more perfect than we could have ever hoped for. Catherine captured our day beautifully. It is so overwhelming to look through our wedding photos to see all our friends and family enjoying time with us on our special day.
We would highly recommend Catherine. They are absolutely stunning and we can’t stop looking at them!
