I’m a matchmaker. The best definition for what I do is that I introduce you lovely people planning your weddings to the most amazing photographers, suppliers and creatives I know. And I know a LOT of those – the English Wedding Blog has been around since 2009! So by sharing beautiful weddings, asking our featured brides and grooms to share their recommendations on every blog post, and keeping in touch with suppliers all around the UK, I can make sure you’re seeing the very best the English wedding industry has to offer. The English Wedding Directory is where you can find all of our favourite wedding suppliers, and is full of brilliant photographers, stationers, florists, stylists, designers… everything you might need for the wedding of your dreams!
Jess and John’s day was rainy – it didn’t stop; and it didn’t matter. They chose a magnificent venue in Wentworth Woodhouse, and the images of their day are as stunning as can be. The focus was on friends and family, celebration and love. This is a classic English wedding, a reminder that simplicity and elegance can create a truly beautiful day.
“Something I found was that it’s the little touches that make a wedding completely personal and special to you. We had old photos of us around the venue, a personalised cake topper, I put a basket in the ladies toilet with essentials in and provided flip flops for anyone with tired feet. A lot of these ideas were from Pinterest or I took as inspiration from other peoples weddings.
For those of you who love peonies… today’s wedding is wonderfully pretty, romantic and set in the most deliciously landscaped venue. Elizabeth is beautiful – she told me the best thing about being married to Simon is “knowing that day in and day out you will be able to walk with your best friend and share special moments and make memories together.” Isn’t that just so romantic?

Today’s wedding is beautifully simple, classic and elegant. Katherine and Scott make such a charming couple – their style is honest and timeless, and their wedding uses flowers to create a really romantic and summery atmosphere.
The images are stunning: they’re by Peak District wedding photographer John Mottershaw, who shares a glowing review from the happy couple (at the end of the feature). Discover more from lovely John here:

Lovely John Mottershaw is lucky enough to live in the beautiful Peak District national park, one of England’s most breathtaking landscapes. I was born there; it’s a place close to my heart and one I’d love to explore more – so I’m happy to say we’ll be featuring some glorious Peak District weddings over the next few months, thanks to John and his gorgeous brides and grooms!
