It’s rather lovely to be sharing a styled wedding shoot with a family focus – today’s images sent in by lovely Pudding & Plum Photography are all the more special for the little face alongside the bride and groom! I know so many of you will be thinking of ways to involve your children at your wedding, and this beautiful shoot includes a little bridesmaid from the very beginning. You know what? It makes me smile SO much – her happy little grin is just adorable! The styling by Worsley Creative is brimming with ideas for you to take away: the cake and treats look divine; the dress is dreamy as anything. And the FLORALS… I have no words! You will LOVE this!

The urban landscape of sprawling Salford may not be an immediate choice of location for a romantic wedding shoot with its busy streets and industrial vibe but look closer and you will discover some medieval magic amid the metropole. Ordsall Hall dates back as far as 1177 and provides a striking setting for combining contemporary romance with historic grandeur and drama.

Let’s relax into a wedding style feature which is opulent, lush and sophisticated, shall we? Today’s blog is all about elegance, with timeless looks inspired by Price & Prejudice beautifully brought to life at Cornwall’s luxurious Burncoose House. Janna from Wild and Free Photography teamed up with stationer Caroline from Love Tree Designs and stylist Natalie Blake to bring a timeless elegance to this enchantingly beautiful wedding shoot.

Inspiration came from Jane Austen’s romantic novel, Pride and Prejudice, as well as using old world decor to give a truly authentic feel. The colour scheme was inspired by a combination of forest greenery which surrounds Burncoose House paired with gold which represents prosperity and grandeur. Burncoose House in Cornwall has us stepping back in time to the Georgian era with its classic architecture, grand staircase and ornate features throughout, which fitted perfectly with the vision.

Situated under the grand staircase was the most opulent cake by Christine Jensen from Peboryon, that shows off her detailed sugar work and styled by Natalie Blake with draped material and candle light.

Some days it’s just all about the dress. Jenny Packham‘s breathtaking bridal wear has had my heart for a decade: sparkling and swishing their way through the years, Jenny’s gowns are inimitable, elegant and glamorous.

A Tale of Three Cities is the name for Jenny Packham’s 2020 wedding collection. The gowns capture the spirit of some of the world’s most romantic destinations: Paris, Buenos Aires and New York. With such diverse influences and an international outlook, Jenny Packham never fails to excite with her bridal launches, and I truly believe once you’ve tried on one of her gowns you’ll fall in love.

‘La Ville-Lumière’, the city of light and love, Paris is renowned for its fin-de-siècle grace and its haute couture heritage. Inspired by this sentiment, draped chiffon, finely pleated tulle, delicately embroidered organza and volumous skirts are softly romantic for an ethereal bride.

Vibrant, passionate and beautiful, Buenos Aires is synonymous with a Latino love of carnival and dance. In homage to the sensuality and soul of the city, these silhouettes celebrate the female form with bias cut crepes, intricate embellishment, fishtail skirts and plunging necklines.

We had a skype interview with a couple of different photographers but we loved Warren’s style of photography and his relaxed approach.
We had an engagement shoot in Oxford in the autumn and it was great for us to all get to know each other a bit before the big day. It was important to us for the photographer not to feel like a stranger on the day so we could be comfortable and not awkward in front of the camera.

Festival vibes and a gorgeous Devon wedding at Colehayes Park, photo credit Howell Jones Photography (32)

Happy Monday lovelies! How was your weekend? We were at a wedding in beautiful Derbyshire, so I’m still over the moon feeling happy for my amazing friend Beth and new hubby Peter – we had the absolute best weekend ever. So I was so excited to stay in the wedding mood and share another gorgeous day with you all today – we’re sharing gorgeous bride and groom Amy and Chris’s wedding all the way from sunny Devon, with our friends Devon wedding photographers Howell Jones Photography behind the camera lens!

Amy and Chris were married in August at Colehayes Park near Newton Abbott in Devon. Amy told me their wedding was “The most fun party I’ve ever been to!” and you know what, it really does look that way! They called the wedding ‘Lonkerfest’ – the festival vibe was because Colehayes Park was theirs for over a week so lots of wedding guests stayed over and hung out and partied throughout the week! Amy’s surname is Lonnen and Chris’s is Straker – “together our friends know us as The Lonkers – hence Lonkerfest! It was full of colour and silly-ness – there was no real theme – just to PARTY and have fun!”

Good morning, beautiful! How are you on this rather chilly October (!!) day? And can you even believe it’s properly autumn now? I know I can’t… but the best thing about autumn is all the fabulous weddings I’m seeing from lovely couples and photographers all around the country. This has to be the best time of year for wedding blogs, and I feel so lucky! Keep the submissions coming, guys!

Today we have an extraordinarily beautiful wedding, with stunning bride Amy and gorgeous groom Gerard, from Iscoyd Park. Lovely Michelle from Elegante by Michelle J submitted this one, and Gerard and Amy have completed a brilliant interview telling us all about their day. Images are by international award winning wedding photographer Paulo Santos – who captures every moment beautifully and gets a glowing review from the happy couple!

I was really interested to read a couple of weeks ago that Jenny Packham wouldn’t be launching her bridal collections via catwalk shows. Her decision makes so much sense to me: for years I’ve seen – and mostly rejected – bridal designers’ submissions where all I see is dress after dress photographed under harsh lighting, against a dull background, surrounded by the ankles and handbags of boutique owners and stockists (sat either side of the catwalk, but still in shot). It was all very meh, (even in the days when meh was a new word!).

So to hear that one of our favourite international designers is stepping away from this kind of imagery and launching a campaign with a digital focus is wonderful news. It supports the wedding blog world; Jenny is looking to share beautiful imagery of her 2018 bridal collection online. And the photos are beautiful – they do her designs justice by showcasing the dresses against an elegant backdrop, hinting at a stately home or glamorous hotel where real brides are more likely to wear these beautiful creations in real life.

You don’t need 100 or more people to watch him put a ring on your finger. You don’t need the stress of a wedding table plan, huge corkage fees or to spend your day in a crowd of distant cousins. All you really need is you. Intimate weddings with only a handful of guests are my favourite, and beautiful bride Liz and Richard’s day is simply perfect. Don’t you just love that Jenny Packham dress?

“We looked for Kent based photographers online and after looking through a lot of photography we came across Helen’s website and we knew it was the relaxed style we wanted. We contacted Helen to arrange meeting her at a wedding fayre and we instantly clicked – we knew she’d be great at blending in and capturing our special moments.

You know when you look at a rainbow, and it’s so amazing it gets in your eyes and stays there all day? No? You’re about to, with today’s wonderfully colourful English wedding. The hot air balloon is only one of so many visual delights (and hey, if you’re training to be a balloon pilot!!!… it’s got to be done!) The styling and decor make this wedding so fabulously fun, unique and memorable – it has to be one of my favourite weddings on the blog this year. Gorgeous Kristy and Ollie shared lots of info about their day, so do read their fantastic interview after the images!

“We made our own invitations, created some of the venue styling pieces such as bunting, paper cranes, we put together some glass vials with wildflower seeds for wedding favours too. I was lucky to have some help from friends and family with all these.

The style of Chell and Ben’s wedding is wonderful: this is a themed wedding done beautifully, and it’s a joy to scroll through their images! When this wonderfully sparkly, gold, glamorous wedding landed in my inbox I knew you’d adore every detail…

Oh my god I was obsessed with my wedding dress! We knew the theme we wanted almost straight away; Great Gatsby Glamour. I went online to search for 1920s style dresses and instantly fell in love with the Jenny Packham Eden dress in Platinum. It had 1920’s decadence but with a bridal twist. Effortlessly stylish and beautiful without being over the top. The detailing of all the sequins and beading made it stand out above all other dresses. I am still totally in love with it now and am always looking for 1920s events I can use as an excuse to wear it again. I’m even contemplating bringing it on our honeymoon to the Maldives so I can get some more beautiful photographs in it!

It’s hard to believe we’re only a month away from Christmas now! [Is anyone as far behind as me with shopping for the big day?!] I’ve been looking for wintry, Christmassy weddings which are really elegant and pretty to share with you all for the last month… Today ladies and gents, brides and grooms – we hit the jackpot. Sophie and David’s wedding at Swancar Farm, Nottingham, has left me equally excited and speechless. The details are wonderful, Sophie’s dress is stunning, the lovely moments are all there and scrolling through all the images left me feeling happy, and super excited to feature such a beautiful day.

Images are by lovely Jack from Firsthand Photography. She told me Sophie and David are really friendly and fun to be around and their wedding really reflected that. “They were very relaxed about the photos which gave me the freedom to be creative and being a Christmas wedding, there were lots of lovely Christmassy details for me to photograph.
