I just LOVE it when Rosalind Miller shares a new wedding cake collection with us! It’s like a snapshot into the world of wedding cake trends – so scroll through this entire post if you’re looking for cake ideas for your 2020 wedding. Big trends right now are painted cakes (and Rosalind’s floral illustrated cake is a beauty!), single tier, minimalist cakes and showstopping cakes with metallic finishes. Vegan brides and grooms will be happy to hear Rosalind has introduced two vegan wedding cakes to her collection – and they look stunning!

Weddings aren’t just for women. The wedding industry often ignores grooms – focusing every publication and brand on all things pink, pretty and romantic. But there are two halves to every wedding, and I think it’s a fairly safe bet that over half of the humans getting married wouldn’t choose pale blush and ivory as the most important aspects of their day.

Think about it.

You don’t like them*, but you think you probably want them*. For your mum, or your gran, or his auntie and all the people who love the family gathering aspect of weddings above anything else. You dread them* – but secretly you know that in 20 years time you will have a tear in your eye as they* become rare and treasured memories of your loved ones. And you worry a little, because you’re not sure if taking them* is going to be a bore, or a bit shouty and embarrassing, or if your uncle Raymond is going to disappear for a fag while it’s all going on (true story!) – but you know it’s a thing and it has to be done

Now I do adore details. The soft movement of a piece of silk or lace, the gentle flow, like waves, of a torn piece of cotton rag paper – and a stroke of calligraphy. Gently shining jewellery and accessories, the sheer perfection of a delicate bloom or a tendril of foliage escaping from a bouquet: these things make me happy.
