The Victorian Seaside: Perfect for your Intimate Wedding

Published by Claire Gould on

To end the week I’m over the moon to be sharing this beautiful styled photoshoot with you. Dotted with gorgeous yellow tones and fabulous flowers and foliage, it’s chic and a little bit different from the norm.

I want to very carefully point out that this is NOT a real wedding. Wedding blogs get lots of new readers every new year, and it’s really important to explain why we publish styled shoots like this one – and what they are!

Styled photoshoots are where couples model as grooms and brides. Creative wedding suppliers pour their hearts and souls into dreaming up new colour palettes and flower / decor combinations to inspire you. They’re about wedding styling, but they’re not real weddings – they’re just for ideas. So look at our styled shoots and think, “how can we adapt and incorporate this into our wedding, with our budget?

Most of all, enjoy the new ideas and the beautiful photos, and if the suppliers are local to you (today’s all work with weddings in Kent), check them out!

West Bay House encapsulates the fairy-tale romances we grew up dreaming of, whether that be from the fictional worlds of Austen or the Bronte sisters.

Designed in the Queen Anne Revival style, its romantic features have an undeniable potential to serve as backdrops for intimate weddings. We strove to capture this in our styled shoot, supported by Kent based suppliers who shared our vision.

As the Wedding planning/stylists, we made it a priority to show the functionality of the house, internally and externally. Being situated by the seaside, we integrated movement with draping, during our outdoor ceremony. We also adopted the vibrancy of yellow, through the lemons and flowers in our indoor ceremony and wedding breakfast, which complimented the modernity of the interior.

Covid has made many couples redefine what weddings mean to them, resulting in an increased appeal for intimate weddings. West Bay House allows you to celebrate with your loved ones, whilst still reflecting the grandeur of a traditional wedding.
