Medieval Game of Thrones wedding inspiration

Published by Claire Gould on

Ever find wedding blogs and websites with super skinny twenty-something models all a bit…. samey?! We’re stepping away from the bland ‘norms’ of wedding websites today to bring you a gorgeous couple whose love shines from their photos. (And shhhh… it isn’t even a wedding!)

Adria and Kate modelled for this Game of Thrones inspired photoshoot at St Andrew’s Castle – and we saw it and fell in love!

When I was approached by this little hidden gem in Bury St Edmunds I knew that I had to put together a medieval/games of thrones inspired shoot at St. Andrew’s Castle. Be it a small castle, it certainly has a lot of character and uniqueness.

Using all the venue’s natural features like the beautiful stained glass windows that framed our tablescape beautifully, created by Eva Rose Weddings and Boukates. Along with the hand-written stationery, by the very talented Softly Spoken Calligraphy.

Our stunning real couple Adria and Kate, that you can see are so in love, were dressed by Sarah Belindas Bridal Boutique. Hair and makeup by Stephanie MUA.

I was blown away by the hand painted dragon jacket by Sammy Bee Customs that combined the colours of the whole shoot perfectly.

Our original floral bouquet and crown included our autumnal colours throughout. The mock up ceremony included handfasting and a candle ritual by the wonderful Phoebe Smith Ceremonies, which also made us all quite emotional, you just can’t beat a celebrant led wedding in my opinion.

Our Cake provide by Stacey’s Cakey Bakes was a fabulous extension to the Game of Thrones Theme with its swords.

Captured beautifully by the photographer Holly Williams who used the colours of the window and darkness of the venue to create these awesome shots, which I think you can see captures the true essence of this venue and the love these two have for each other.
