It’s a treat these days to see a real wedding, to be reminded that weddings can, and will happen in 2021. Hang on in there – we’ll get through this, and the light at the end of the tunnel is starting to show. In the meantime, we have this stunning wedding to share. It’s from safer times – Tim and Victoria were married at Stratton Court Barn way before the pandemic. Lovely Steph Kiely captured their day, with some wonderfully romantic shots around the venue in the afternoon sunlight. These two are absolutely gorgeous – I hope their day brings a smile, and some inspiration too – for me, the little table signs and florals are adorable!

How did you choose your photographer?

I used Google and wedding directories to narrow down and then after a face to face meeting I decided that steph was the one as I could feel like myself with her, she was down to earth and her photos had the look I wanted.

Yes love our photos, cant get enough of looking at them. She really did a fab job, on the day and with the whole service.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

Stratton Court barn, near Bicester. It was the perfect size and the event organiser was amazing, made everything really easy and worked so hard to bring my vision to life.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?

Really enjoyed every minute of the dress hunting and fittings, I just knew it when I found the dress and loved wearing it on the day. My hubby really enjoyed the suit choosing and trying on experience. Used bicester bridal, and Henry’s of banbury.

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

we used a family friend to do our flowers. She was brilliant and worked amazingly hard to get the look i had in my mind. I went to her with Pinterest and magazine photos and she did a trial run for the centre piece. I made my own bouquet, and for my bridesmaid and flower girl. I loved making them and it gave me something relaxing to do the day before, and loved the results.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

my mum made our cake, she was preparing all the flowers for months for the cake and it tasted delicious! Had so many complements from guests. The flavours were fruit cake, elderflower and lemon, and chocolate with salted caramel filling. Yum!

Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves

I made my own invites, used wrendale design pictures to add in some animals to the woodland theme.

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

Thinking out loud, Ed sheeran, it was our song, our first dance was choreographed by a friends partner.
