Hannah & Jess’s rustic spring wedding at The Green, Cornwall, with Evolve Photography

Has September sunk in yet?! It hardly feels more than a few weeks since lockdown… and so I wanted to share this pretty spring wedding with you today. Beautiful brides Hannah and Jess tied the knot days before the world stopped in March, and their sunny, vibrant spring wedding is full of happiness and love. Images are by our friend Mark at Evolve Photography in Devon, and the florals by his lovely wife Natasha at Pumpkin & Pye! The venue is The Green Cornwall (I know, I know… we blogged another wedding there on Saturday!)
I hope you love this wedding as much as I do. Have a lovely Wednesday!

How did you choose your photographer?
We loved Mark’s portfolio of photos. Amazing work and a decent price too!
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
We couldn’t have been happier with Mark. Meeting him before we knew we had picked the right guy for the job! We got married days before the national lockdown and he was so reassuring and happy to sort any ideas of ours. As he was a recommended photographer by our venue, we knew he would know the best spots for our photos whatever the weather so it was something we didn’t even need to think about. At times you wouldn’t even know he was around on the day, getting the best relaxed photos of us and our guests. We got amazing location photos- in the woods, sunset, in the arbour in the dark, simply incredible.
Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?
The Green was an easy choice to make. We wanted an informal, relaxed, rustic venue and that’s why this location was so perfect. We also loved that we got our nearest and dearest staying on site in the incredible cottages the night before. Plus the staff and good were incredible
Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?
Dress shopping was easy for us both. We got our dresses at the same shop- The Wedding Company in Plympton and they were amazing from start to finish
Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness
We hired Natasha from Pumpkin and Pye who is married to our photographer! Her attention to detail, accommodating our ideas made her an easy choice. We are far from experts in floristry but she sent us lots of pictures with options to help us make the best decision. The flowers on the day were amazing- she even had spares with her to make an extra buttonhole as one broke when we tried to attach it. Again with so many words of reassurance on a very unique build up to our wedding day. She was a pleasure to work with. An amazing husband and wife team
As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?
Yummy Cakes based in Liskeard did our cake. It was a watercolour cake with meringue kisses with four flavours! We sent pictures of our ideas and Nicola really brought them to like and the cake was amazing. The best buttercream and icing I’ve ever tasted
Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves
We made our own pompon confetti- hours and hours of labour!!
What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?
We had Hold My Girl by George Ezra. As soon as I heard it it reminded me of my wife. We liked also that it wasn’t a traditional ballad for a first dance
