Sheila & Paul’s wonderfully chic and elegant Ely wedding, with Fiona Kelly Photography

Morning lovely! Today we join stunning bride Sheila and her handsome hubby Paul, who were married in Ely, Cambridgeshire. These two are adorable together, their day shines with happiness and I love every moment of it. The styling touches are so prettily done too – and it’s all captured beautifully by lovely London wedding photographer Fiona Kelly Photography.

How did you choose your photographer?

Fiona was recommended to us by another photographer. Once we saw her style of photography, we knew she was the person we wanted to capture our day. We were also lucky enough to have Jesse as a second photographer.

Fiona and Jesse were brilliant. They were very thorough and incredibly well organised. Fiona struck a balance between guiding us through the day with helpful suggestions and capturing the day naturally. We had a lot of confidence that they’d do a great job and the photos were incredible. We were (and still are) so happy with them.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

The venue was in Ely which is where my husband grew up. It was also one of the most beautiful venues in Cambridgeshire for us.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?

The thing I liked most about the dress was that it was adapted with a lovely strap and belt which made it feel more unique.

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

Yes. Our florist Bridget was the perfect wedding vendor. It was great to exchange ideas with her. I knew nothing about flowers and she was able to take the vision we had for our day and make it a reality. The flowers were amazing and are a big reason why the day itself was so beautiful.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

We had a semi naked cake made by Emily Harmston Cakes. There were two lemon tiers and one tier was vanilla with chocolate hazelnut. There was also a vegan cake. It was so delicious!
