Vibrant enchanted woodland wedding styling ideas – from Lefkas Weddings

Published by Claire Gould on

Lovers of florals, colour, fragrance and whimsical romance, gather round! Today’s wedding inspiration is wonderfully colourful and fun and romantic… all inspired by a golden swan and brought to life by a fabulously creative bunch of wedding suppliers in lovely Leicestershire.

The shoot is by Claire of Lefkas Weddings, who styled the shoot and wanted to use bright colours and jewel tones in contrast to the summer weddings she usually creates with her destination wedding planning company. The images are by destination wedding photographer Maxeen Kim and the bride’s beautiful dress is by Bronx and Banco, combining tiered, lace skirt with a soft, romantic look. It was paired with velvet Ted Baker heels, which everyone wanted to take home! The groom wore a velvet jacket lined with bird pattern fabric adding a hint of fun to the outfit and a nod to the theme.

The enchanted garden styled shoot grew from a swan vase found in a bric-a-brac shop which I immediately envisioned sprayed, antique gold and forming the centre piece for a wedding table.
Swans are nature’s symbol of monogamy, loyalty and their loyalty to their mates is so storied that the image of two swans swimming with their necks entwined in the shape of a heart has become a nearly universal symbol of love. They fill our fairy stories with graceful beauty and element of enchantment. The location for the shoot was cemented when I visited the venue and I saw a regal gold pheasant sat on the sideboard in the conservatory, it was a match! The light, open space provided the ideal backdrop and the feature print wallpaper brought the outside inside for our woodland theme, so we began to put the rest of the elements together.

On seeing the mood board Designer Baker Frances Quinn was inspired to create us a detailed woodland theme cake to complete the shoot.
Cocktails are always a great idea to serve as a welcome drink and The Oat Hill mixologist created a tea cup cocktail for us named Apothecary’s Garden, which was served with woodland berries that ingeniously altered the test of the drink as you sampled them together!
We used the rich tones of delphinium, roses, carnations, clematis flowers mixed with grey green of eucalyptus to compliment the velvet fabric on the table. Cut figs placed with the gold accents and mercury glass tea lights added luxuriousness, reminiscent of banquet.
The shoot featured a real couple, Rachel and Ashley who are marrying in a destination wedding in Greece in 2020. The shoot allowed them to have a beautiful set of pre-wedding images to add to their wedding story.
