This week: our BEST wedding stories of 2019!

Published by Claire Gould on

I lose count of the weddings we’ve featured over the year… but I remember something of every single one. A little detail, an image that captures something unique and beautiful, a moment that stops me in my tracks as I scroll. I secretly tag my favourites as we publish them through the year, and save them up to revisit at Christmas time! So over the coming days I will be sharing my favourites from every wedding we featured in 2019.

Weddings have made the list for all kinds of reasons: for being different, for having an atmosphere that makes my heart sing, perhaps – or for having gorgeous styling touches or creative details. Sometimes – and this is what really makes a wedding shine for me – the newlyweds just radiate happy!

So here’s a sneak peek at our top three! Follow English Wedding through the week to see more!

Wedding of the year #1 – Lizzie & Faz at Fennes

Lizzie & Faz’s wedding was an absolute highlight for me: their story is magical (and their double-act filling in our English Wedding interview makes me HAPPY!) their wedding is glorious and I just ADORE the beautiful golden hour photographs by wonderful Grace Elizabeth. Catch my highlights from their wedding at Fennes tomorrow!

Wedding of the year #2 – Anna & Ollie in London

“Don’t wear a wedding dress.” ~ controversial advice maybe, but one of my favourite bits of advice from one of the very best couples we’ve featured on English Wedding in the last year. I love Anna & Ollie because they were brave enough to challenge the normal ‘rules’ of weddings. And rule #1 – if you’re to believe the wedding media – is that you have to wear a wedding dress!

Rules are there to be broken, and Anna and Ollie had the most fabulous wedding. Anna’s interview is pure brilliance, and the gorgeous set of photos by Annelie Eddy Photography absolutely inspires me. We’ll be sharing more from this wonderfully unique London wedding on Monday. Don’t miss it!

Don’t buy a wedding dress. I chose something I truly loved and felt comfortable in, and that I wasn’t going to panic while wearing/didn’t feel like a human sized barbie princess doll. ~ Anna (& Ollie!) // Photographer credit Annelie Eddy Photography

Wedding of the year #3 – Steph and Rob in Huddersfield

Steph and Rob’s wedding is an absolute BEAUTY!! The flowers are out of this world, nestling amongst glass jars and candles to create a wonderfully romantic, English country garden look from daytime to dusk. She’s glorious in Anna Sorrano’s Laurel gown from Wed2B, and he’s so handsome in a micro check navy suit from ASOS. The best thing? These guys are real – two brilliantly happy human beings, just like you and me, beaming with happiness and enjoying their Best. Day. Ever. – and you can just tell they’re SO much in love the photos are a kind of magic. Catch their wedding when we share all of those stunning florals on the 2nd of January!
