Hey beautiful! Today’s wedding is a treat – an all-out floral feast in the simplest of colour schemes, with stunning images and a focus on family. This Mill Barns in Alveley wedding has pretty much everything – and I love the images, by Deborah at Stott Weddings. The styling and lighting makes this a really impressive day to share on the blog – with Perfectly Unique Occasions providing a floral arch and blossom canopy trees to style the ceremony and wedding breakfast tables. 

 

“The Mill Barns is a beautiful venue without much extra decoration needed and in beautiful surroundings too! However we chose Perfectly Unique occasions to dress the venue, which they did beautifully and it was truly stunning what they did! We chose our items beforehand but seeing it all together in the day was just incredible!

We made part of our favours ourselves, we had personalized m&ms in little jars for a little sweet treat for our guests! For the little guests at our wedding we made goody bags, with wedding crafts, activities, coloring, sweets and bubbles!

Our flowers by Jo from Floral Secrets in Kingswinford were gorgeous: very classic, lots of green and crisp white, with gypsophila for the bridesmaids and green and white for the button holes.

We chose a three tier cake by Laura Jane Cake Design with ruffle bottom, marble middle tier and copper plated flecks on the top tier, we chose raspberry and butterscotch for one tier and salted caramel for the other.”

We can’t thank Debi of Stott Weddings enough for capturing our wedding day as beautifully as she did. The images are simply stunning! If you are looking for a photographer who will blend into your wedding as well as any guest would, look no further! She captured our day perfectly without us even knowing she was there! We wanted our images to be natural – of happiness, love, emotion and memories we can keep and look back on forever – and that’s exactly what we got.

Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?

They took our breath away, we were overwhelmed with the quality and amount of the images Debi managed to take. They were so natural, and allowed us to re live our day perfectly!

What’s your top tip for saving money?

Know your limitations, be sensible and spend within your means without compromising on quality. Have a good plan of what you want. Also make what you can yourself, such as favors etc!

… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?

The photographer, and the venue.

Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?

It was by Eaton Stationery based in Nottingham, they were amazing and did all of our invites, save the dates, table plan, menus etc!

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

Absolutely! I wish I could wear it every day!

Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:

Angel Bride was the dress designer it was from Nero è Bianco at Barton Marina.

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!

My shoes were from Sophia Webster.

And what did the groom wear?

The suit was from Marc Darcy, the shirt was hawes and Curtis. The shoes were from Office, and cuff links were a gift from the Bride.

Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?

The adult bridesmaids wore custom dresses from Milly Bridal. Our 2 daughters and niece wore little dresses from Monsoon!

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?

No I hired for both, I had our make up done by Minnie Bella Makeup, She’s amazing! And we had our hair done by Hair and Beauty Boutique who came to the venue.

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

We had a DJ with a saxophonist, the sax player was brilliant!

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

The day is YOURS don’t try and please others it’s impossible to please everyone! Have some time to yourselves on the day to try and take it all in and enjoy all your hard work!

What’s the best thing about being married?

It sounds silly but the best thing is nothing has changed and it feels the same as before which is exactly what we wanted! If anything we feel stronger as a couple!
