Rob & Hannah’s gorgeous Wharfedale Grange wedding, with Amanda Manby Photography
Hey there lovely! How are you getting on with the first week in April? It’s all lambs up here in the Lakes at the moment – they’re everywhere, and they’re SO cute!! I’m managing a pre-blogging walk in the countryside every morning, and loving it! So how’ve you enjoyed the blog so far this week? We began with Rachel & Steve’s gorgeous Iscoyd Park wedding, and yesterday was all about the florals at Almonry Barn… so today I thought a wonderfully warm autumn wedding would be a bit of a treat! Rob & Hannah were married at Wharfedale Grange, Yorkshire, in its very first year – it was still being built when they went to visit, but they trusted in the owner’s vision for this lovely venue, and Wharfedale turned out to be the perfect venue for their best day ever.

Amanda was recommended by friends, they got married in the June before we did in the November. I was a bridesmaid at the wedding so it was great to see Amanda in action on the day and get comfortable with her before our wedding.
We really liked Amanda and would recommend her. She really listened to what we wanted on the day, we felt comfortable with her and we feel she really got to know what we liked and what we wanted.
The wedding photos came through after we got back from our honeymoon. We loved them, we really wanted Amanda to capture all aspects of the day, as well as the usual group and couple photos we really wanted her to capture the parts of the day we didn’t see. We were so pleased with them all.
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
Magical memories, surrounded by love and happiness.
Your wedding style or theme:
modern classic.
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
All our suppliers were recommendations by our friends who had got married before us. It is important to know you can trust your suppliers as it is a once in a life time day.
Whatâs your top tip for saving money?
Shop around.
⌠and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
The venue and the food and drink – we wanted to have a big party to celebrate our day and love. The Venue was perfect!
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery â or was making it a labour of love?
We created our own save the dates and wedding invites using Canva.
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
I loved my dress – I only went to 1 boutique and it was around the 6th dress I tired on. As soon as I put it on I knew and then when I tired the veil on, i cried. So it was definitely the one.
As we were having a November wedding I bought extra lace to think about making sleeves. I worked with the boutique and chose the cap sleeve. I loved that my dress was unique to me.

And what did the groom wear?
Hired a suit from Harrogate Suit Hire. We went for the tweed look, perfect for a November Wedding in Yorkshire.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
I always knew I wanted to have burgundy bridesmaid dresses. We love the colour and also thought it would be the perfect autumn shade. I found the dresses online at Ever Pretty. Having the long sleeves was important for the time of year too.
Hair and make-up â did you DIY or hire a professional?
Make up for all the Bridesmaids and myself was Sam Collins. http://www.samanthacollins.co.uk/
The bridesmaids did their own hair.
My hair was my regular hairdresser. Kings Grove hairdressers Harrogate
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Our wedding flowers were rustic and natural. I loved that Sally brought our vision to life. The flowers were perfect!
The colour combinations were fantastic and worked with our theme perfectly. I love roses and we choose to have thistles as we got engaged in Scotland. As my mum is part of the flower club at church they did all the flowers for the church as well as the button holes, we ordered all the flowers through Sally so it worked really well. http://www.serendipityfloraldesigns.co.uk
General styling â did your venue need much decoration?
No Wharfedale already has fantastic decoration with lots of fairy lights. We added to the decoration with flowers.
Crafts and makes â tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding⌠did you enjoy them?
The button holes we did ourselves. My mum is part of the church flower club so they did all the button holes and flowers in church.
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We hired a Magic Mirror from https://www.photobomb.co.uk/ it was so much fun on the night and loved all the pictures from it, we have all the pictures and used it for the wedding book too. Some great photos of our guests having a super time.
We found the band online – Just for Tonight. They kept everyone on the dance floor and played all the music we love.
Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:
