Our best weddings from 2018! #1 – Keye & James
Hey beautiful! It’s festive season on English Wedding so while I relax in a pile of tinsel with a bottle of Baileys and a book, I’m sharing some favourite weddings from our 2018 archives. The next two weeks will be full of the most gorgeous, inspiring celebrations for you to swoon over, Pin to your heart’s content and generally get inspired by! We’re starting with lovely Keye and James, whose vineyard wedding at The Swan, Chapel Down was captured by Steven Rooney Photography and styled by the amazing Hire Love! Enjoy!
I guess if we could all describe our perfect wedding it would be something like this: fun, relaxed, gorgeously styled, games, drinks, full of personality, laughter, love, unique. Keye and James nailed all of those – and then some. They added circus and carnival, wow factor, fizz and flames. The opulent floral displays are breathtaking and the styling is oh-so-pretty and perfectly on trend. Their day is spectacularly styled with beautiful summer blooms, calligraphy signage, smoke bombs, brilliant outdoor games – and our gorgeous grooms look fantastic in matching outfits with waistcoats and bowties.
The list of ‘above and beyond’ styling details is just amazing. Stilt-walkers, fabulous carpets lining the walkways between tents, a harpist, an owl ring-bearer, personalised plastic sunglasses in a rainbow of colours (and glorious sunshine to go with!)… but you’ll see from the pictures how incredible a day this was!
I asked Keye and James about the styling of their wedding, which was all taken care of by Hire Love, who submitted their day to the English Wedding Blog and got an instant YES from me! The review Keye posted on their Facebook Page says everything you need to know about Hire Love:
“Our venue was a complete blank canvas, Rachael and David (Hire Love) organised everything, there was so much that they did, I don’t know where to begin!
After meeting Rachael and David only around four weeks before our wedding day, they honestly managed to pull off the most incredibly magical day! Everything was perfect and the details throughout the day I cannot express my gratitude enough. From an owl delivering the rings down the aisle, to stilt walkers and fire dancers. They honestly in the shortest time pulled off a day no one will ever forget. They were both always on hand and filled my partner and I with so much confidence! I am so glad I was recommended these two as without them the day would just not have been the same! Incredible duo I would definitely recommend them for any event, and i will be using them for any large function i now through! Words can’t describe the amazing things these two did and the insane amount of love and passion they put into every part of our day! They fully understood what we wanted, (when even we didn’t) Honestly incredible and magically every single thing they did! Thank you so much guys love you both to pieces!!”

The wedding cake:
Actually quite tame, but lovely and then towers of cheese all laid out with pickles and bread, amazing.
The Squires and The Night and Day Collective, plus Stilt Walkers, Fire Jugglers, Fairground Games, A Harpist called Cecily, an Owl that delivered the rings and then could be held by the guests, and the evening was brought to a close by the uber-lovely Fox and Braces DJs and our Party room had a ceiling of Balloons………I’m just gushing I know, but it was so amazing.
On the day tips and advice:
Relax, drink, eat and enjoy, and definitely book a planner and co-ordinator, and try to give them more than 4 weeks notice.
